I REALLY couldnt tell you that. Its a very good question though. But with all the wacko's out there that would do anything (like sell thier soul) just to get whatever they want (such as things so horrible that you would know if it happened) I think there would be alot more crazy stuff going on cause soooo many people would have already sold their souls. The devil never appeared to me with his cloven foot and asked me to sell my soul so until that happens I cant ever be sure but the whole thing about eminem and his song is kinda crazy. obviously the guy does some crazy crap to get attention and will say anything to make money so whats to say that those words in his lyrics werent just to do just that. To me in those lyrics it sounds like hes saying that being exploited so much by hollywood has messed up his life and the "sold my soul to the devil" was a metaphor that was saying in exchance for money he gave his and his daughters natural life that was out of the lime light. |

If you believe that the "devil" and the concept of him was fabricated to symbolize all the inherent dangers in human nature, mainly sin then yes you can "lose" your soul to sin. Sin is also selfishness. And people are lost in there own selfish natures quite often. If you believe in the Devil as an actual being, then of course you could believe you could sell your soul to the Devil, you already believe you can because you acknowledge the Devil as a being that has the ability to change things about you. You believe in him and that gives him all the power he needs. However, in each case, you also believe in "God". And isn't there the commonly held belief among Christians that through "God" and Jesus even the vilest can find redemption? Something about no man walking in darkness so long that he can't find the light even if the light destoys him? If you can find damnation, you can find salvation as well, it's two sides to the same coin. However, personally, I do not believe that what Eminem is referring to as selling his soul should be taken in a literal way, I feel it's more symbolic. I think he feels like he has had to give up himself in order to provide a better life for his daughter and I don't think he is always happy with the things that he gave up in order to do that. I think that's what he means. I do not believe he has really "sold his soul" anymore than I think he really killed his ex-wife, killed Dr Dre, Killed his agent Steve Burman, or raped his mother which are also things he has sung about. |

Well-if there really is the Destroyer of the Biblical Stories, whose sole purpose seems to be keeping souls from reaching God, than yes, it is possible. And, yes, I have seen some very popular celebs that are just "off" enough to make you wonder whome, or what they consort with. So, yes, it is possible, in theory. |

Very interesting, this is what I believe: no, I dont think you can sell your soul to the devil, because we were all bought with a price by the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, he paid the ultimate price for us and defeated the devil. His Love and sacrafice is stronger than any evil. Yet, I believe people have freewill to follow the path in life they want, which means I believe the only thing the devil can do is deceive those who dont know the truth, and keep them blinded. And yes, with that he might grant power, fame, money...all things that fade, he does it on purpose, to keep people from believing in the Truth. Thanks for sharing, |

Yes I believe that many people knowing the difference have indeed sold their soul to the devil. I think those KNOWING the difference between satan and Jesus, Heaven and hell, and choosing satan, perhaps wont ever be redeemed. Others, do it for childish reasons, non Knowledge of what is involved, and I think those that dont REALLY know what they are doing, its like a game to them as they dont understand the spiritual ramifications, can , ONCE they learn and KNOW, can ask Jesus into their hearts and be forgiven. BUT those that know the difference and have blapshmey *sp* the Holy Spirit? No I don't think they can. |

Well as one who does not believe in the existence of the devil I have to say no. People choose to do evil through choice in order to fulfill selfish needs. I believe in personal responsibility and taking that responsibility. To use a separate entity (whether real or not) is not taking responsibility for our actions. Devil = d'evil = the evil as in the evil path. Everyone has a choice to do good or bad and there is always a chance for forgiveness and to make amends. In all things lie valuable lessons. |

Thanks everyone for all your diverse thoughts on this subject. Sorry I didn't respond personally to each and everyone of you. I don't have much time on the internet these days. Another thing I thought of was people might sell their souls for Power. I also believe Satan expects something in return for your soul. For example to do his will and further his agenda. Personally, I don't have the best this world has to offer and I struggle daily (like most of us). One thing I know is that there is more to this thing we call life and we just can't see the whole picture. I do know, however, that my Heavenly Father has seen to it that I have everything I need. And, I would rather die a horrible death today than sell my soul to the Devil or intentionally do his will. |

Maybe it's a metaphorical phrase..maybe having fame and fortune and the opportunity to give his daughter the things he never had is like living in Hell to him..I mean sure..he's famous, he has money, but can you imagine how awful it must be for celebrities?/ No private life to speak of, having to shield their children from the stalking press, having things said about you that may not necessarily be true, and your whole life up for public perusal?? Sure, they chose to be celebrities..but everyone has the right to some privacy in their personal life..maybe that's what he means like he feels like he sold his soul to the devil cause he has it all..yet he has nothing. Not everything people say is literal. |

If you need to blame an imaginary being for the bad stuff that happens, maybe the problem lies with yourself. Satan doesn't exist because you want him to, nor if you hear voices. You're simply branding your opinion as fact. |

I take full responsibility for the bad things I do. Whoever said anything about hearing voices? Satan doesn't not exist just because you're in denial. This post is my opinion, observations I've made. I'm simply laying it out here for all to read and hearing what others think. If you can prove to us that Satan DOES NOT exist then why don't you come on here and state your case? |

I found this on montalk.com "If you attempt to manifest something through the help of negative higher forces, two factors must be taken into consideration. First, they will not help you unless your desire is of a negative orientation, such as lust for power, financial elitism, or sexual prowess. Second, these will be given to you if you pay the maximum price, which is the circumvention of your life path, the lowering of your soul frequency, a stunting of spiritual evolution, and a commission of your soul energy paid to these higher forces. You lose freedom, freewill, responsibility and creativity in exchange for illusory power, money or sex. This Faustian deal is no bargain, but a metaphysical scam." I definitely have to check out this Faustain dude.

Rod Tod the only way I can prove to you that he exists is if I ask my Heavenly Father to make Satan appear to you. I can't do that for two reasons. I don't want Satan to appear to you and secondly I will not test my Heavenly Father like that. |
