The Ghost In My House Is A Real Wise-Guy (or Girl)

I have a very mischevious polterguist hanging around the house. That should be no surprise to most USM'ers, since I get spiritual visitors upon occasion. Plus I am still involved in parapsychology, and "ghost hunts".

This polerguist likes to hide things. Now, I do have a pair of Ferrets, and anyone who have even known Ferrets knows they are little theives. They love to hide things. But it is not the Ferrets.

I mention this because I always look to the natural, before the supernatural.

Case#1 The Cigarette Incident: Last Monday I bought a new pack of cigarettes. (I rarely smoke, but occasionally I will have one). On the car ride home, I opened the pack, and smoked one at my Sisters. The next time I saw the pack, was on the drive home. I went to get out a cigarette, and the light turned green, so I dropped the pack in my purse. When I got home, I went to get a cigarette out, and there was no pack in my purse. So I went out to my car, thinking I had flipped the pack on the floor, and I COULDN'T FIND THOSE CIGARETTES TO SAVE MY LIFE! But I DID find my bottle of Eternity purfume under a seat. Now that was strange. There is no way I would have a very expensive bottle of my favorate purfume under the car seat! Anyway, I emptied my purse, searched the route into the house, and even looked under the car & around it, to see if the pack flipped out. Those cigarettes were nowhere to be found. BTW-my son also checked to car & my purse, trust me, there were no cigarettes. And, I do not have a large purse. So, I finally gathered all my change, ran to the quickmart, and bought another pack, which I put in my purse.

I get home, and while I was on the computer, I asked my son to get the pack of cigarettes I had just bought.Jon reaches into my purse, (I was watching him), and he says "Mom?" real puzzled. He pulled out TWO packs of cigarettes! The pack I had just bought PLUS the missing pack!!!

Case #2 The missing glasses: I wear contacts, but I have a pair of glasses. I went to was my face, and took off my glasses. After I washed my face, I couldn't find my glasses, which I had set next to myself. I called my son into the bathroom to help me look. We couldn't find my glasses ANYWHERE. We even looked in the bedrooms, on the windowsills, UNDER beds, everywhere. Jon & I both checked & re-checked the bathroom. Finally, about 15 minutes later, I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and guess what? My glasses were sitting there in plain sight!!!! I told Jon & he looked scared. He's laughed off a few of the polterguists antics, but I know it is not my son playing pranks. He is kind of scared by our ghostly visitors tricks.

Case#3 The missing DVD. We were watching movies one night, and I went to put in a DVD (I think it was THE RING). I set the DVD down on the footstool, opened the DVD player, turned around, and NO DVD. My friends and I looked EVERYWHERE, thinking the DVD slid off of the footstool, and went under the couch or something. After a furious search, (there were a bunch of us), I went back into the living room, and guess what was on the footstool, in plain sight? The missing DVD. My friends laughed, but were a bit creeped out too. They wondered if I were playing a trick on THEM. So, I know THEY weren't pulling a trick on me.

Anyway-that's a taste of what is going on around here. :)

How it changed my life:

*sigh* it is not a malicious spirit. We haven't had fires, or damage done. Just a mischevious spirit

Date: 2/9/2004 10:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 53128    I hope those pranks don't get any worse! :) Maybe the spirit was trying to tell you it didn't want to watch The Ring? Felt like the movie was an insult to him/her? hehe.... (never saw the movie... is it good?)

No, it's probably my late Mom who hated smoking, and thinks I could spend my time better than waste it watching Horror Movies
