I don't know what to tell you but there are some people on this site that always give good advice as far as computer woes go. At home HOME (I'm at school right now) we have aol. aol kept on not letting us sign in and would only let my brother (the account is in his name) sign in or we'd have to get his info to sign in. We kept wondering what's going on, it kept saying that we were up to illegal activity or something like that. What happened is that someone hacked my mom's account. It was bad for her especially because she's on an email list for her college alumni and it sent everyone porn spam. She was so embarassed. |

Thats the good ol worm virus for ya. you didnt have to do a darned thing, that's the glory of a virus! My suggestion would be to go to grisoft.com and download their free virus protection...its a ton better than norton could ever dream of being. Norton let many viruses & worms slip on through to my computer. Good Luck! |

I have, thanks for that advice. But yeah I did, I have changed it three times now. I am REALLY freaking out! I am trying to contact Yahoo, but all they keep sending me are automated messages. I have had this account for as long as I can remember, and I don't want it to get frozen. I am so freaked out! |

In some cases the worm may not even be from your computer. It could be someone who has your email address somewhere on their computer (like their address book) and THEY have the virus on their comp. The worm will take your email address and pretend to be you. I've gotten these e-mails before and I didn't have the virus. So the emails being sent out are just spoofs of your address most likely. You can try a google search for the antivirus sites if they keep crashing maybe? |

I had this same problem in one of my hotmail accounts. I'll receive about 20 messages a day saying that a delivery failed and I had never heard of the emails it was addressed to. |

Likely it is someone who has you on their contact list has the worm itself, and it is spoofing the email address... in this case, using your email address as "who it is from." I would email those people you know and inform them, that one of them has a virus on their machine, and point them to a couple places:
http://housecall.antivirus.com
and
http://www.grisoft.com
Both the websites provide free virus scanners(the first is an online virus scanner), the second is a free real-time scanner and is actually pretty decent. -- |

It Was a TROJAN VIRUS! But thanks to that http://housecall.antivirus.com, I fixed my pc! THANKS ALL! I went in and had it clean my files, wrote down the files it was unable to clean, and then DELETED the little suckers from my puter! Now I can sign on to my yahoo without a bunch of hocus pocus! (I was having to bypass my Internet Explorer, and get in thru my control panel "Tech Support" option because my IE refused to open from the desk top. SO, now that the files are clean, I assume it will be harder for a hacker to get into my account. Maybe, maybe not... I can only hope for the best... |

I would still recommend using the virus scanner that is offered at www.grisoft.com... just when you go there, they do have a free version(not the trial... ) this way you have an active scanner on your computer at all times. |

(re-read Soul Light's Post before this)
That's my guess as to what's happeneing. Now--what you should do is--open your address book in your email account-- and make a fake entry.
For the name put aaaaaaaa and for the email...
aaaaaa@milk.com. You can make up any fake email address you want...but make sure the name is aaaaaa. Here's why.
When the virus enters your guestbook---it will start emailing people from your list. When you put a fake address at the beginning (aaaaaaa) it will try to send out the mail and won't be able to because it doesn't exsist. It won't be able to continue forward through the rest of your list.
Now I realize that this only keeps people from getting a virus from you--- so you'll need to tell your friends to do the same so you won't get one from them. ~Satori Crush
