As all my teachers say... "The more you do in class, the less you have to do at home". And obesity wouldn't be because of homework - it would be because you aren't eating right and not getting exercise... and in that case you can just take a break from your homework every half hour and kick the ball around. >>Bageera<< |

obviously they arent doing a good enough job that you cant use punctuation in the first part of your rant. I can start a rant teachers dont teach enough because kids today are lazy. They dont know how to spell words like OBESITY. I am dyslexic and I still take time to fix my spelling mistakes. Most teachers, not all, but most teachers will give a lesson, and sit down and let students do their work, and if the students have a question, the teacher is there to help them. Most of the kids I knew in high school got their assignments done before class got out. If the teacher was in front of the class lecturing the whole time, they didn't give an assignment til the next day, except for a few. I didn't. I was a slacker, and I paid for it in the end, when I barely had enough credits to graduate. I had to balance school, work, home, and relationships as well. I participated in school plays, and I attended several road trip speech and drama meets. In the end, I still had barely enough credits to graduate high school. And I am not much older than you. I am 20, I graduated in the class of 02. Considering it is now the class of 04, that was just a day or two ago. If teachers didn't care, they wouldnt be teaching. If your teacher gets done with a lecture, dont turn around to chit chat with your girlfriends about your date three weeks ago. Get as much done in the time you can, and when you get done with school, you will have 30 minutes of homework left, and you can go find your friends and do something constructive. Most schools offer after school help at least one night a week. Maybe you should take advantage of it. I know. Your 14, its hard. Wait til your 17, just barely enough credits to graduate, if you dont pass these last 2 REQUIRED classes, you wont graduate, and you still have to go to work after school, then come home and do house chores, then you can come back and complain. Manage your time better. No name calling... no insults... comments were realated to story.... yep.. I think thats good. OH YEAH.. Get off the computer! Why are kids obese? Cuz they have computers, 56" plasma tv's, Xboxes, DVD's, PS2, and a treadmill that doubles as a clothes line! |

Don't complain...its easy for you now. But when you get to college it only gets worse. They don't care if you do your homework or not, but if you don't do it, you will probably fail the tests. BELIEVE ME, high school is alot easier than it seems. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and make sacrifices. For example, I have an 8:30 class this morning....and I worked until midnight last night. But anyway, hang in there :) |

I graduated in 92' and I had homework every night ,there were 8 periods in my school day and 2 of the 8 were chorus and lunch.I was lucky enough that I only worked on the weekends,my homework got done when I got home. There were girls in my school that had to go to work right after school let out and they still managed to get their work done and pass..so it might seem rough or unfair to you right now, but my advice is to enjoy school now it does not get any easier once you graduate. |

As for obesity I walked to and from school, very good exercise ,plus having to run up and down stairs all day ,most times it was from the basement up to the 3rd floor for a class :) |
