As i was reading this, I was thinking to myself: Did I write this or is someone in my head? I totally agree with what you're saying! They (the politicians and such) need to move on to what's truly important. That girl down in Florida couldn't even walk home by herself, being 11 or 12 , and return home safe. what's up with that? |

Over 60% of the the public think the same way as Republicans and George Dubya Bush, so actually you are in the minority...And I don't think anyone ever thought the Founding fathers were saints, they were human, not Gods so you can keep the dirt, probably nothing we all haven't heard before anyway. |

So I'm in the minority. I just feel there are more important issues at hand than gay marriages. Secondly, watch the way people talk about the Founding Fathers and that the Constitution as it is should be set in stone. You'll be suprised how many people think they were Saints. |

Actually, I'm not sure what I think of gay marriage...I just know the majority of Americans are against it, and I don't think a constitutional ammendment is the answer (and I don't know if Bush thinks so either), but neither do I think activist liberal judges should be telling states what laws they should pass as in the case of Massachusetts. I'm pretty sure the founding fathers weren't lilly white saints, but I also know they believed in State rights and did not mean for State Judges to be passing laws. And I'm also pretty sure Bushes slipping poll numbers have nothing to do with the Gay marriage issue. |

Ga6y marriage is a States rights issue on both sides of the debate. The federal government should stay out of it. The little girl in Florida is dead because a judge let a felon go after he violated his parole. Guns/ The constitution is quite clear on that, and there are more than enough laws in place restricting them. The deficit, security is expensive but even more at fault is the fact that due to the ecomomy of the last 3 years (caused by 911 and the failure of the Dot-com business artificially pumped up by the Clinton administration). The simple fact is that when people are making less and businesses are less profitable/ they pay less taxes as a result. The deficit is more than a matter of out go, it's also a matter of income. |

I know I'm not suppose to feel this way..and I know I'm suppose to be open-minded, everyone should do what feels good afterall, but I can't help but think our kids are being somewhat corrupted by the whole homosexual agenda. My 14 year old began talking about the lesbians in Jr. high and how it is the "in" thing for girls to go out with other girls and it is very much the same way in high school, girls kissing girls in the hallway, making out in full view of everyone, which of course guys love although I doubt they would feel the same if it were the boys doing it. Than yesterday my 5 year old told me a little girl was trying to kiss her in class. My friends 5 year was being kissed by a little girl in her class....the parents of the little girl are lesbians. My five year old saw two adult woman kissing in target several weeks ago and expressed shock..but by the time she is in high school I'm sure she will be conditioned by what is being taught in schools and by her peers to be able to choose boys OR girls. Do I think this is a good thing? Should I be happy that others are pushing there morals and values or lack thereof onto my family...and Yes, shockingly it can and does work both ways which is where the struggle comes in. Who has the moral highground when it comes to the homosexual issue? Concerned traditional people, or the "do it if it feels good" crowd? Doesn't seem being homosexual is a natural trait anymore as we've been told over and over, it is now a life-style choice. Never mind that homosexuals have the same rights as hetrosexuals which means they to can marry someone of the opposite sex if they want..now they want special rights. I still don't know if I think homosexuals should be allowed to marry or if it would even have much affect on us or if they even truly want to!! Canada legalized homosexual marriages and there hasn't been a huge rush to the alter by gays. |

Plus another point on gay marriage, it's a political ploy that in reality affects a small segment of our population. But the tactic is, find something a President is opposed to and make a big issue out of it. |

if homosexuals are allowed to marry, it would not only affects homosexuals, it will affect society as a whole! If society is willing to give up their morals and allow homosexuals to marry, it will completly destroy the concept of marriage |

Exactly why I'm not voting for Bush. Good post. :) I also heard that they are creating this one thing for schools that has to do with 'saying no to sex'. They're going to have the kids act out instances where they are going to 'say no to sex'. Personally, I don't think that'll work. It's like the 'just say no to drugs'. It's only going to make kids more interested and wanting to see what's so bad about it. And you're totally right about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. This government needs some serious work done on it. |
