OK , I have been really depressed about Valentines day coming up . I am hoping it will wiz by fast ! Any how , I decided to participate in this "joyous" day ....maybe it will help . Now here is my problem , what do you give a guy on V-day ? Especially a guy who you r kinda dating but kinda not ? I was thinking of giving him all the poems I wrote about him .What do you think >??

Date: 2/11/2004 7:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 62100    LOL..it's hard to shop for guys on Valentines isn't it?? Last year I bought my fiance a stuffed pug dog..cause he wants a real one, but we can't have pets..so I told him it was to last him till we get our own house where we can have a real one. I thought he'd laugh at me, but he thought it was really sweet and he loved it..so I'd say get into his head..find out what his interests are and what he likes and get something associated with that..nothing a guy likes better than to know his girl really listens and knows him. This year I made my guy a homemade card with my own poem written inside and of course a full page of the "mushy stuff" that he "tolerates" LOL..I also plan to make him a basket up, filled with candies and a few small bottle of Captain Morgan's rum (his fave) and some coca-cola..and then some scratch off lottery tickets and just little stuff like that that he enjoys but doesn't always have the money to just buy.
Date: 2/11/2004 7:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 8278    i agree, poems would be very personal. i like the pizza and video idea. any man would love that. lol. or you could find something little yet sweet. something subtle. maybe a little teddy bear holding something. hmmmmmm...it's hard to decide unless i know the person. i always have a tough time picking out gifts. lol
Date: 2/11/2004 7:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 40979    He reads every thing of mine...and I don't really have money for pizza and a stuffed animal ....I don't wanna get anything TOO cute .
Date: 2/11/2004 7:26:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 40979    See , SHE wrote a poem ! So , do you think If I got him a candy bar he'd be just as happy as if I bought him a large cheesey pizza ?? lol
Date: 2/11/2004 7:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 51070    You know him better than we do, so do whatever you think will make him happy. V-day sucks.
Date: 2/11/2004 7:33:00 PM  From Authorid: 62100    LOL..now I didn't say it was any good...I just try to do something different each year that ties into something he realy enjoys. In the case of this years present..it's just cause he's really sacrificed alot like not going out with the biys to spend time with me and support me while I'm in school..and he's had to deal with alotta emotional crap from me lately due to my stress, so I figure a few stiff drinks are his dues right now. :) Plus, he's always talking aboiut wanting to win some money..hence the scratch offs..I might even throw in a few genuine lottery tickets..wouldn't that be awesome if he won the Lotto off of my gift??
Date: 2/11/2004 7:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    poem might be a bit full on at such an early stage of this 'relationship'. why dont you suggest the 2 of you go to the movies or rent a video or something? chocolate is ALWAYS a good pressie for anyone ;)
Date: 2/11/2004 8:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 62181    I hate valentines day. I always just end a relationship or I'm just starting one so it's awkward. lol It never works out for me that I am actually in a secure relationship on v-day.
Date: 2/11/2004 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 14464    jeeze I am having the smae problem I am not sure what to get my bf! Maybe you should rent his fav movie and make him a dinner(maybe his fov meal). Nothing too romantic though if you guys aren't that close. I know guys love food though.
Date: 2/12/2004 3:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 33925    I wouldnt give him ALL the poems you wrote him, but maybe pick a special one and have it framed and give him that one. You are kinda dating, kinda not, so you dont want to bombard him with a pile of poetry.
Date: 2/12/2004 6:06:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 40979    Thanks Gail , one poem . Ok That sounds good .
