I posted a story about my son back in November about being back in glasses and possibly, having surgery done on his eyes. My worst fears have come true, my son is having another surgery.
I took my son to the eye doctor to see how his left eye was doing, and the doctor said it wasn't doing any better, and that to fix the problem, he would require surgery.
Back in August, my son had his right eye operated on because the muscles in the right eye were lazy, and it made that eye turn towards the nose and look like the eye was crossed. The surgery corrected the right eye, but 6 weeks after this surgery, his left eye started to mess up.
His left eye's muscles have now become lazy. his eye isn't quite as bas as the one before, but his doctor wants to correct this eye before it gets worse, or it makes the right eye to go bad again.
The surgery is outpatient, and I know what's going to happen and how its going to look afterwards, but this does't comfort me. My litle baby has to go thorugh the pain of another surgery.
My son was born remature (3 months), and he's had problems with his vision ever sine he's been a baby. He started wearing glasses at 1. The eye doctor did say that if this surgery does take and it corrects the eye, that my son might not have to wear glasses anymore :-) Its so hard to keep glasses on my son because he has sensory issues and he can't stand anything on his face, including glasses. I've tried everything to keep the glasses on him, and I never found anything that would keep them on.
So I really hope this surgery goes well. His surgery is scheduled in 2 weeks, on the 26th.
Please pray for my son to have a successful surgery and pray that there isn't any complications, and that my son has a good recovery.
Thanks so much
**hugs**
