i love to shop at second hand stores like the salvation army or at the value village or at the traite union saint vincent de paul suciety or even at my local favorite named carfourd d'entraide in our home city of lachine quebec canada.

i love to buy clothes and nick nacks and shoes and furniture like televisions which i bought one at this place for only 5 bucks canadian. it is black and white but it works like a charm. i love to shop at used item stores.

i even bought our microwave oven at a used item store for only 8 bucks. and it works like a beauty. it is an old one without the turn table but it does have the square glass plate to cook with inside of it!

so where do you shop when you are looking for a perticular item? i love to shop second hand yes i do!

cyndi.

Date: 2/12/2004 12:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 53909    I go into second hand stores every now and then. I never buy any of their clothes there. I usually look at the toys, electronics, kitchen stuff, office supplies, books, furnature and whatever else they have. I bought a 8 dollar rice cooker at Goodwill a while back and it works as if it were new. Gotta love cheap stuff :)
Date: 2/12/2004 1:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 53961    Most of my house is furnished with second hand stuff. It's either from places like those or friends or yard sales. That way if i move I don't feel bad about not paying to move what cost little or nothing. I moved once and rented a truck that cost $1,000. When I moved the mext time I couldn't afford a truck so I had to practically give away good, like new, furniture and move in my vehicle. the only thing I am fussy about being new is my mattress and box springs, unless I know the people who I am getting used from and their cleaning habits.
Date: 2/12/2004 3:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 62136    *Raises Hand with pride* I just went yesterday to two diff salvation army's :D I buy all new clothes for the kids at the start of the new school year but with their growth spurts, holy cow! Through out the year I replenish their supply from 2nd hand stores. I tell ya, you can find some really nice things in places like that...why pay $$$ when you can get the same for much cheaper...providing its in good condition.
Date: 2/12/2004 4:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 32133    yup.....not that much but sometimes my mom and my aunt go there and buy little things they dont need.
Date: 2/12/2004 5:24:00 AM  From Authorid: 53360    ooo! goodwills a good one too! And theres a place called second glance, theyre expensive, but they have good stuff. I got my daughter a $50 barbie karaokee radio for $10, works great! :) They have some nice furniture too! and nicknacks galore :)
I admit it, im a second hand junkie :)

Date: 2/12/2004 8:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 53836    I LOVE the Salvation Army. I furnished our new living room completely for $250 dollars...that's a couch, mother-love seat, chair, two end tables, a coffe table and delivery!!! I also love the Everything's A Dollar Store and the Dollar Tree in the town near us! I couldn't believe they sold so many wonderful/beautiful items for a dollar a piece...I'm a candle and figurine nut now more than ever. I have bought a few decorative plates to display a tower of candles on in both my living room and bedroom. I surround the candles with these neat plastic bobbles that they sale in small bags of many different colors. And my kiddos love the dollar store because they have a wide range of plastic swords :) It makes me feel good to shop in the Salvation Army though, because I know my money is going to help someone else who really needs it, like we did just a few years ago when they furnished our dining room for free!
Date: 2/12/2004 12:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 50758    I used to shop at second hand stores, but in the past couple of years I have noticed that, especially when it comes to clothes, I can get brand new clothes for the same price or cheaper off the clearence racks! So, I have since said "so long" to thrift store shopping. It just doesn't make sense to buy an old, faded and used baby outfit for $3.50! I miss the good old days back before thrift store shopping got so popular. When you could buy a blouse or a dress for 25 cents!
Date: 2/12/2004 1:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 1432    Second hand stores work for me :)..
Date: 2/14/2004 5:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    I usually go into second hand stores to get a lot of nightclothes...I love my nightclothes
Date: 2/14/2004 5:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 50864    I shop at Target Maurices Carson's and Hallmark stores.
Date: 9/13/2004 3:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 37101    I go to second hand stores a lot. Just for shirts or books or most of the time. -
