oh hon, I wish I had some ideas. But it sounds like maybe they will need a hard lesson in being shut down to realize that they can't do that. I bet if you quit then they would shut down tomorrow with the way it sounds like they are spending. I hope today goes okay for you. I will say a little prayer that everything works out. *big hugs* |

If it was me, I would be looking for another job, so that I could quit! these people sound like they have no idea how to run a business. Its like they are depending on you to do that for them. The little boss needs to keep his sticky fingers out of the drawer! I dont think they will be in business much longer, so Id start looking for a job if things dont change around there. Im sorry they are putting all of this strees on you. |

Dang! Hon, protect your own self with documentation (copies of their signatures on their self wrote checks) and leave them! When the IRS comes calling, I'm afraid you might get the blame from your bosses. I can't imagine people spending that much money and still not being satisfied. No wonder you are stressed, I wish I knew what else to say. |

You did not mention whether or not they are incorporated but as the CEO and stockholder in a corporation I can tell you that much of what you have said they have been doing will be viewed very dimly by the IRS and some of it most likely is illegal... The general rule of thumb is when a business falls into tax problems and or liens its sunk... Many times people will struggle to keep them afloat but the business seldom recovers...(and thats with someone trying at the helm) As Penny said cover yourself where neccessary with proper documentation but do not violate any electronic media or sensitive data agreements you may have with the company...The personal checks being cut from the company accounts will point straight to the abusers... Run don't walk to the nearest exit... I have seen and have had to deal with companies like this for years and I doubt 1 in a hundred mend their ways and start conducting their business properly...If your books are in order there is no way you can be found at fault according to what you have said here,, no matter what the owners claim, but whatever you do... Don't compensate yourself before the normal pay period and or more than you're owed... ~Jay~ |

I know exactly how you are feeling, I was in the same position. I sprouted grey hairs with the stress of it all. When I first started there I found huge discrepancies in the accounts which I finally traced to the lady whom I replaced. She was actually writing her own paycheck in erasable ink and changing it after the boss signed it! I couldn't believe he never noticed but after working there for about a year I also wisened up to his shanannigans. Turns out he was up to his neck in cocaine. I left. What a looser! He was putting his habit before even signing for some of the employees payslips! And these were honest people with families. Several people left him after that and he eventually closed shop. Try lookin for another job on your lunch break, no job is worth you health. |

You have done everything you can to keep this company going. Its too bad the owners did not have the same sense of responsibility. Get out of there. Get copies of the documents you need to protect yourself. Maybe, you should consult a lawyer about this. With your skills and responsibility, I think you will find another job quickly. You have my sympathies for this terrible situation. Best of luck. |
