I applied to 4 in the interest of saving money. (BTW, I was accepted to all 4 and then had to choose, lol) |

Since it did cost a little bit of money for each application sent in, I only applied to two. The college I go to now and the University of Tennessee. |

I applied to only 4. I knew I had good grades, so why overdo it? I got accepted into 3, including the college of my choice. YaY! I start this fall... |

I applied to 5 because I have a class named college prep and it was MANDATORY that we apply to at least five or else we would get a 0 on a test grade. Anyway, Im still waiting for acceptance or rejection letter which will be sent out at the end of this week, but i really hope that I will be fortunate enough to get into some of them. Good Luck with the process, ok! :D |

Hey Becky, the GI bill was the college tuition program they used to have in place for honorably discharged military veterans. They phased it out in the late 70's early 80's. But what it basically came down to was that after completion of military service and honorable discharge the US Government would pay 100% of tuition and books for a bachelors degree. Also if you met the standards no school could refuse you since your tuition was guaranteed. In my case 5 years in the Marine Corps = a free Engineering degree. |

12 is excessive. I wouldn't recommend more than 5-6 for undergrad. Personally, I applied to 3. It costs a lot of time and money to apply, plus, if you keep the number down you can put more effort into the applications. Rule of thumb-- 2 long shots, 2 competetive, and 2 colleges that you are sure of getting into. |

Just 2, didn't get into one, accepted into another. My family was pretty ticked about the one I didn't get into, like my WHOLE family went there. My Grandmother was the President of her sorority back her day, my mom went there a little bit, my aunt went there for school and grad school and met my uncle there and got married in the church there. They were ticked to say the least. I actually like this school more anyways, pssst I sorta didn't want to go to that stuffy old school anyways |

Ah, the joys of living in a tuny country. All applicaitons to colleges in Ireland go through the central applications office (CAO). You give them your top three choices (what college and what course) makes it so much easier. |
