Where shadows dance defiant, Doing only what they please. I walk alone in solitude. With only a ghost for company. Her memory is so haunting and still lives inside of me. There was a time not long ago, When life was more forgiving. She walked with me along this path and was still among the living. I'm startled from my lonely thoughts By a whisper and a sigh. As she appears before my eyes, I hear her ask me "Why?" I tell her of my longing and the ache within my heart. And the loneliness I have endured, Every since we've been apart.
