Technically, a hacker is a person who is hired by a company to find leaks and security flaws in specific software. A hacker is respectable and does not break the rules by finding and distributing product keys and such, those people are considered 'crackers.' At least, as far as I understand it. - Hackers / crackers can most likely not find out where you live and such through just your a/s/l. If anything, a hacker may be able to track your IP address which basically identifies where your computer is connected online from. Through this, the cracker may be able to connect to your computer and implant viruses and such. Or, in more extreme cases, may cause nuisances like random pop-ups and other, more volatile things. The only way a hacker can track you down personally is if you give too much information. Most likely. You shouldn't be worried though, just don't give away too many personal facts. Namely specific place names (your school, your road's name) or your last name and such. -  |
