Korick didn't ask any questions when Quaron said a spell to get them back to the Guild of Faye. Some of the Faye stopped when they saw them hurrying down the road to Daelian's home. Quaron opened the door and led Korick to her room to put her down on the bed.
Korick turned to see another Faye come in. He was a guy who looked a little bit older than Daelian, probably closer to Quaron's age. Quaron turned to the guy, a look of desperation on his face.
"What happened?" the guy asked.
"A Shadow attacked," Quaron explained. "She got poisoned. We need to find her an antidote, and quickly."
The guy turned and looked at Korick. "Who is this?"
"Oh, right, you haven't met humble-boy here," Quaron smiled slightly.
"Humble-boy?" Korick narrowed his eyes.
"Jalok, this is Korick," Quaron said, ignoring Korick's comment. "Korick is a priest that Daelian here picked up to try and help defeat the shadows. Korick, this is our friend Jalok. He's a good ally of ours. Very helpful too."
The two shook hands and Quaron went on. "We need to get an antidote from one of the Shadows. But we can't both go. One of us needs to stay to watch her."
"Look, I can go and get it," Korick said. "I just need to find a new staff. My other one broke back there. If I could find a more powerful one, then I'd have no problem killing one of the Shadows to get it."
"A staff..." Jalok frowned, thinking for a moment. "We have a store down here that sells weapons. The good stuff is in the back, but not many people get the shop keeper to let them back there."
"Well that's easy," Quaron smiled. "Just send him there, have him say we sent him, and tell him the words."
"We're not supposed to just tell people that!" Jalok looked at Quaron in surprise.
"What other choice do we have?" Quaron asked, getting annoyed. "Besides, I could tell when I first saw them that she trusts him. If she didn't, she wouldn't have taken him on her journey. And we need to think of Daelian now. She needs help."
Jalok frowned and looked at Korick. "Go down this street and to the left when a street comes up. You'll find a small shop that sells weapons near the end of that street. When you get in there, tell the shop keeper that Jalok and Quaron sent you. Tell him this: Awimnae holis. He should let you to the back room."
"What does that mean?" Korick asked.
"It's basically means that you hold great power and demand to be let in," Quaron replied. "But that's a stretched version of it."
Korick nodded and looked at Daelian. "I won't let you guys down. I won't let her down."
