My cousin when I was 11 had her adenoids removed, and she seemed to be fine with it,not much pain she was still able to fight with me and get me in trouble :) she also has the tubes in her ears.I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well for her on Wednesday. |

Hello Sk8R!:) I had my tonsils removed at the same time as my best friend had his adnoids removed. He not only had very little pain but he healed up twice as fast as I did. There will be 3 or 4 days of eating soft foods but the discomfort is slight.I will be praying foe your daughter to have a sppedy recovery.:)(((HUGGZ)))~Don |

I agree with author 62506, my little brother had his adnoids taken out, and tubes put in his ears, and as I recall the only real discomfort was the IV and the hospital stay. |

I work for a group of ENT doctors that do these surgeries daily. The tubes are a breeze-you will be so glad your little girl is not sick any more. The adenoids are pretty much useless, and they do contribute to chronic ear infections and sinus infections. She will be pretty much fully recovered in just a few days. These are routine surgeries and will do so much to keep her from being sick all the time. You will be glad you did it. It's OK to worry, I'd be concerned if you weren't. But trust your doctor, and call his office tomorrow with a list of questions you want answered. Be brave and have faith. You will be glad you did. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you. it's a mothers job to worry. believe me, i know. it doesn't matter how minor the surgery is, a mother still worries. my neice had this done a few years back. it isn't too bad at all. i will keep her and you in my thoughts and prayers and pray for a speedy recovery. |

I had my adnoids out when I was five.. I had tupes in, and adnoids and tonsels out.. the only pain I can remember is from eating doritos (my mean brother and sister made me!).. also, my niece is 4 and she just had the same procedure.. she didnt have a lot of pain either. its been about three weeks now but the pain was gone in 2 days! |

I'm sure your daughter will be just fine, SK8R. About all I can remember about adnoids is plenty of ice cream. My son had his removed at twenty-one and had a pretty rough time with it. I heard it was way harder for adults than children. I'll say a prayer for your little girl..See ya... |
