The Passion of the Christ.......xXx(V)agical(V)ystxXx

I had the opportunity to go see the Mel Gibson production of "The Passion of the Christ" and I must say that it is a VERY powerful movie. It brought me to tears pratically every 5 minutes or less. I knew that I've ALWAYS had the highest respect for Jesus Christ for what he did for me on the cross, but to see the horrific things he had to go through and then die on the cross, suffering just made me think of how much one person can do for the world. I'm 15 and I honestly do NOT think this movie os for kids 13 or under, even if they are "mature" for their age. And my youth director from my church said that there are grown adults that he works with that shouldn't see it. In Texas, where I am, to see the movie, because its rated "R", you must be accompanied by an adult if you are under the age of 17. My mom couldn't bring herself to watch it knowing that its too intense for her to handle. In Texas the movie has caused many different outcomes; criminals confessing their crimes, people having heartattacks, driving people to WANT to learn more about Christ and what he did for us, and people figuring out that if they want to make this world a better place to live then it CAN start with them. I fit on the group that WANTS to learn more about Christ and OUR Father. If you can handle gory scenes, and intense violence, and have not seen the movie I strongly advise you to see it. You may learn some new and very interestign things about Jesus Christ. Thanks for hearing my review/opinion of the great and terrible movie, "The Passion of the Christ".

GOD BLESS xXx(V)agical(V)ystxXx

Date: 4/4/2004 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 24003    I saw the movie twice and both times I sob sucked through the whole thing.
Date: 4/4/2004 11:24:00 PM  From Authorid: 62181    Even as a non-christian, this movie *almost* moved me to tears (I don't cry at movies AT ALL), mostly because this is the kind of stuff that a LOT of people during that time had to endure (unfair prosecution, harsh judgements, beatings, torture, death in humilating ways...) this wasn't just one person who had to go through this. It was common practice in those days. And then in Mideavil times they had even worse tortures. I once went to tour a torture museum in England or Belgium I don't remember where, but I remember the horrific devices used to torture people. AND sadly but true, stuff like this still goes on to this day. May all your days be torture free. Peace

Date: 4/5/2004 10:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 54247    I was deeply impressed with it as well - you are so young. Wish I had viewed it at your age (I'm 72 years old now) - all these years I always felt that He was God - he couldn't have felt it - but, he definitely did and was described in the scriptures as well. RAT
Date: 4/5/2004 2:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 16845    Haven't seen it yet...will wait til it's out on video..
Date: 4/5/2004 2:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 36870    i thought the movie was wonderful as well. a lot of people here did not like the movie and felt that it "went to far" but i thought it portrayed things well ... makes you stop and think sometimes. God Bless!

Date: 4/5/2004 3:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 8278    i have not seen this movie yet. i have heard so many mixed reactions to it. i really want to see it though. thanks for the review
Date: 4/5/2004 3:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 3538    I can't watch it again. I saw it once and once was enough. It's too much for me, I don't have the strength to watch this movie again. My gosh, the torture he went through. I felt so guilty when I left the movie. I just wanted to go home and lie in my bed and cry.
Date: 4/5/2004 4:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 57726    I was crying all the way through... Extremely powerful movie...
Date: 4/5/2004 5:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 13283    I am so proud of fellow Catholic Mel ! He made the whole christian world proud with this movie . People who saw it kept on saying THANK YOU JESUS over and over . The movie was NOT an exaggeration . Jesus did receive 5,040 blows through His whole ordeal and I think that Mel pretty much showed most of them . Razzy aka
Date: 4/5/2004 6:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 62632    My parents won't let me see it. --; -CW-
Date: 4/5/2004 6:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 3538    I don't think kids should see this movie, it's very graphic. I can understand CW why your parent won't let you.
Date: 4/5/2004 6:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 30051    Very powerful movie..I don't want to see it again but I will because I want to be there when my husband watches it.
Date: 4/5/2004 10:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 8555    I cried pretty much every 5 minutes as well
Date: 4/6/2004 8:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 11097    I am so glad this movie inspired you to learn more about Jesus Christ :) I went and seen the movie with my younger brother (14) and he is going through a "leave me alone" stage and gets angry when I talk about faith... well he agreed to go with me and he had tears in his eyes and I seen how it effected him, and I was so glad. The movie was very intense but very good! I couldn't watch some scenes (put my head down) because I felt my heart in my throat... it made me really stop and think about this life and what it truly means. I thank God for Jesus and love Him very much and only hope in the days of "testing" I am strong enough to call myself a "soldier" of Christ :)... good post ((hugs)) and if you ever wanna chat about this or anything, feel free to message me!
Date: 4/6/2004 8:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 62085    oh its a powerful movie alright. If you take pleasure in seeing a simulation of our savior being beaten. There are so many scriptual errors in the movie, its a movie for catholics by a catholic. Me, i focus more on his glorious rising, than being beaten up.
Date: 4/6/2004 9:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 12341    I work for my money and never waste it, therefore I have no intention of seeing Mel's graphic interpretation, I've seen enough horror in the REAL world without paying a cent to view more, based on one's own interpretation. Based on what I've read, it isn't logical and could never have happened like this.
Date: 4/9/2004 8:30:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 38272    I DON'T get pleasure in seeing our savior beaten, Knightmare, but Him being beaten is part of the reason He rose from the dead. It was His destiny, His wayof letting everyone know that He loves us and would do ANYTHING to prove it.
