A bit of both Raz Satan does exist but those woman chose of their own free will to kil their children. I have often wondered why both God and Satan only send these messages to the most extreme religious denominations? I never hear of for example Catholics and Lutherans recieving and acting on messages like this. They are taught to use both as excuse from early childhod on in many of the extreme groups.  |

This is a very complex subject and one that is hard to answer. Anger, fear, and hatred are all forces of evil. Yes I believe the devil is real and is very active today. The devil feeds off of fear, provokes the angered mind, and uses hatred as his weapon. Where there is hatred there is no love, and only pure unconditional love (God) can destroy those things. But I also believe no matter how much the devil might "taunt" a person we all have a choice, we all have the choice to say "no" I will not do that. Unfortunatly that wasnt the case and I will not pass judgement on them because I do not know them or have the right too but it is terrible that young innocent lives were the cost. Evil is very active and behind all horrible acts is an evil source just like behind all good acts is a wonderful source. Whether these women suffered depression, possession, or it was their own choice to do this... the result was terrible and I only hope this doesn't happen again. Interesting post Raz (hug)  |

And one more thing, about hearing voices... if one is suffering from this they should seek help before anything can come of it. Ask for guidance and pray. We are told to test spirits to see if they really come from God.... if not we are to rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ. If we are weak in faith or mind we ask for help, there are people out there who would be glad to help. The devil is good at deceiving people... which is why we must be ready at all times. God is love, the devil is evil. |

I believe that these women were probably depressed and overworked even . It is very hard to care for several chilren every day , keep the house clean, cook the meals 3 times a day and be responsible for a thousand other things etc. that pop up every day for mothers . I feel sorry for those who have no help... even from their husbands . It cannot be pleasant to be the last one to bed at night and the first one up in the morning and never stopping to rest! Of course there are other things that can be added to what I just said, but a "so-called satan" is not one of them! I do not believe that these women were hounded by any being except by their own circumstances of overwork and depression. What they did is absolutely and totally wrong, but what they did... they did of their OWN free will and as are the rest of us... they are responsible for their OWN actions and they cannot blame it on someone who does not exist!  |

I dont believe in the devil, or 1 single god, I personally feel these woman kill their children on their own free will. And they use "god told me to do it" not only for court purposes but to make them feel what they did for their guilty minds. Cause if you tell yourself something over and over it is possible for a person to actually believe that lie. As for saying drugs and lack of sleep, I did drugs when i was much youger and i worked the graveyard shift for 3 years and would go 2-3 days with no sleep, and i do agree they can cause depression, but I never had a thought or heard voices telling me to kill my children. And if I had a very bad few days i always called one of my parents to come get the kids so i can sleep and just get my mind back. so i personally feel these woman had a choice to get help from someone, and to say you hope more men will be more considerate of their wives, you dont really know both sides of the story, and its so much easier for these woman to say their husband didnt do much to share the blame on why they murdered their children in cold blood. I have never heard anyone tell me to kill my children either ... but who can say how different situations affect different people. Some people have very vivid imaginations and when they are raised in the belief that there is a "devil" who urges them to do all these horrible things... then I think it is very possible ( likely even) that they believe this to such a degree that they can actually create these terrible negative situations within their own minds. Perhaps they are in such a mental state that they might even believe that "Satan" is responsible for what THEY did and that this belief leaves them blameless. You were lucky you had parents to call on when you needed some sleep... however, not everyone has this option. And I see nothing wrong in men helping their wives out if need be... do you? You are right that I do not know both sides of the story.. but then, neither do you! We can all speculate all we want to, but no one will ever tell me that maybe if these women had had some help and some love and understanding perhaps they would not have felt so hopeless and that they were at the end of their rope. Of course , I do not think what they did was right, but I do think that these mothers too need some compassion! |

how can you blame their husbands for their sick twisted actions? The husband cannot be blamed for mommy dearest picking up a rock, driving a car or filling a bathtub. It was the freak who did the action who shouldn't get off on an insanity plea, who should have to have their heads held underwater, bashed in by a rock until they are almost dead and then be brought back to health and have it done all over again and again until they finally die.  |

Yes, God does exists and I pity those who think otherwise. So, here's a redneck idea on how we should handle all of these parents. Parents that murder their children. Parents who beat, starve, sexually molest their own offspring. Parents who should have never been given the right to have children...these people, aka monsters, should be drugged out into the street and shot. No trial, no jury, just a simple solution that costs about 25 cents. No taxpayers spending hundreds of thousands each year to house them in prison. Pretty redneck, huh? I know, I'll get some negative comments back on this one. But, heck, makes since to me!! Stop blaming satin. Stop trying to find a scapegoat. They did it. They KNOW they did it. Shame and guilt...I think not!!!  |

I am a mom of FOUR . My husband has never helped that much, I work, go to school , tend the children and do the household stuff... So becasue I dont get alot of sleep , have had problems with drepssion that stems from childhood , and I am an insomniac . I can claim Satan took hold of me and get away with killing someone ? I don;t think so.. it is not right. Do you realize how many people every single day are given lengthy sentences for crimes FAR less serious then murder ? And yet these women get away with it.. I am sorry at least one of those women claimed GOD told me to do it... no GOD that I have ever heard of would tell soemone to kill anyone let alone their own children. As for them spendin the rest of their lives in a mental instution I doubt that... the latest one was said when and if deemed to be sain.  |

Its funny, I am an insomniac, I have had clinical depression fo r mos tof my life, and *I* don't have an urge to kill my kids, nor do I hear voices telling me to do these things. As far as "Satan" being the culprit, so was Rock n Roll, video games, dancing, just about anything. No one wants to take responsibility for their own actions, they want to put the blame elsewhere instead of looking at the real cause of things. Satan? I doubt it, he doesn't have to do a thing, the world is doing it to itself, and all Satan has to do is stand back and watch.  |

obviously there was something wrong with these woman. perhaps a mental hospital would be better to confine them too, as long as they stay there a LONG time.. but no one is to blame but the mothers.. they choose to do it. i don't believe in satan, but even if i did, i can't believe he'd have that much power... the people who murder others, the people who abuse their children or other children.. they're have problems.. but those problems aren't satan.. and we can't give them that as a scapegoat, or we'll dismiss every case like this.  |

There is no excuse for this kind of behavor. I know how the period after having a child is a very depressing one (post partum depression) I think if more women would see doctors, my friend did and went on paxil... less babies will be victims of crimes like these.  |
