I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this one's not true...snopes.com is awesome at telling whether or not something like this is true or false. Here's the link: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/nogas.asp |

I'm still not going to buy gasoline on that day. If more people would do it I believe it would have an impact. Send a message at least. |

The funny thing is, people are like, We WANT WATER BASED CARS! My dad was talking about it this morning, and it would cost the same IF NOT MORE to run all our cars on water. |

Rebekah, while parts of the original message are not true, the fact is if enough people all boycott gasoline on the same day, it will have an impact. What would be even better would be if people were to go one full weekend, Friday to Sunday, without buying gas. Most of the gasoline bought on weekends is not for work use, but for recreational use. |

This is just unrealistic. To actually have an effective gasoline boycott you would have to involve people from around the world for more then just one day or even a weekend, since OPEC doesn't just sell to people in the US. But as a personal finance decision I think it would be fine for people to try and see how they could get by with less gasoline, and maybe people could save themselves a little money. |
