When it comes to loving someone.......   Author:  61893  Category:(Discussion) Created:(5/15/2004 4:54:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (770 times) Have you loved someone, and they don't act like you expect or prefer them to act, then suddenly one day you notice that you have stopped expecting anything from them but for the way they are? What does this mean, or what shall we call it.. acceptance, settling..etc? Maybe it is like one of those saying, "I love you just the way you are." Let's say you are a romantic, touchy feely, mushy kind of person, and you start dating this person that is not like this. Say they are more sexual, and not as affectionate. You wake up in the morning and can't wait to hear their voice, but you notice that if you don't call them, then you go all day sometimes without hearing from them at all. Makes you think, "Here I am thinking about them, and it is obvious that they are not thinking about me at all." You go shopping together, they are walking beside you, but they never reach for your hand, put their arm around you..etc This isn't a big deal, however I do like this every once in awhile. :) You have been dating them for a long time, you have already established that you love each other, but then you rarely ever hear it from them. You may know that they love you, but what can it hurt if they say it once in a blue moon? When you get to the point to were you don't care if they say, "I love you," or if they hold your hand, if they call you..etc What does this mean? Did I lower my standards, settle, or just come to love/accept them just the way they are? Maybe they rubbed off on me, and now I am more like them.. Who knows! They know what I like and the type of person I am, this isn't a big secret. I still love them with all my heart, but I realized today that I don't expect any of that stuff anymore. Then I sit here and try to figure out why.... (This isn't just about people who date either, this also includes married couples. My husband and I are the exact opposite, they say opposites attract, but how does changing your whole outlook on, "What you expect," happen?)
