Oh wow, it was the coolest thing ever. I get home from a short bike ride. As I walk in the door, I walk through the kitchen and happen to glance out the window. I thought, 'wow, neighbor's must've gotten a new horse...sure is funny lookin' though'. then I look again, it's a deer!! So I run back to my mom's room "hey mom, hurry, look out the window!" she gets up and I run and grab a camera, then i dash out the door and go start makin' my way to the backyard. In the very back yard, we used to have a track for our go-cart. then we added more hills for our 4-wheeler. And eventually, one really big, flat at the top hill for my brothers' trucks. Almost like a shooting mound. Anyways, I made my way back there and kinda hid behind that mound of dirt. I took a couple pictures and waited. Then the deer started moving back into the weeds and trees, so I slowly got up and followed it. It was so awesome, I watched it as it was eating leaves or the weeds or something. At one point, I musta been less than 40 feet away from it. I could've gotten this really awesome picture of it then, but there were trees in the way and i didn't want to scare it away with the flash already. The deer starts movin' again so I follow. This time I realized I was following it and starts runnin'. I do too! I finally make it out to the cornfield-which is still dirt, just barely has sprouts comin' up and there is the deer running across! It's my only chance for a maybe some-what decent picture. I took a few. There were no trees, no weeds or anything in the way. Then it starts running even faster and got too far away for me to have any chance to follow it some more or take more pictures. It was a crappy camera too, no zoom :( I really hope those pictures come out and the deer is actually visible. It was probably all a waste of film and i was in my work shoes-they got all muddy, but hey, it was SO worth it!
Yeah, yeah...i know you're probably thinking "yeah, so what? i'm right next to deer when i go deer hunting!" well, its different for me. I thought this was so cool because it was just so random, i hadn't planned on chasing it, but i did. and it was in my backyard too! how cool is that!
