Well I'm one worn out Mama! This weekend Mike and I ushered our four kiddoes down to Southeast Texas for their Big Birthday Bash, the first annual celebration of ALL of Mom and Dad's grand children birthdays ...and counting my sister's recent additions by marriage, and my sister in law's brother, who we've adopted as ours because he's such a doll and just fits...that's 10 grandkids...and only one's a girl! LOL
They range in age from 14 months to 17 years old, and the birthdays are filed one after another from January to June, so it was decided to have one big all-day bash to honor all the kids at once.
It was a wonderful time, minus all the mosquito bites. We started the day with tuna sandwiches and chips, followed by gifts being opened, one child at a time. The sat in the special chair with all eyes on them as they opened an array of goodies. Each family was limited to spending $10 per kid, so it wouldn't break us, LOL!
After revving up the kiddos with tons of cupcakes, cookies, and preparing ourselves (the adults) by comsumming more than our share of Mama's YUMMY Red Velvet cake ...
We played several games including-- blind-folded soccer, musical chairs, tug-o-war, water balloon races, pin the tail on the donkey and a piñata to boot! Or wack, hehee! There were bubbles being blown, horns squealing, and on that note, a few worn out babies who missed their cribs, WAH! LOL
We had a few special visitors too, including my Nana and Papaw *heart swells* and my Aunt D and Uncle Larry, and my cousin Jenny Bear who's about to graduate high school, her boyfriend, and her sister Jamie and her new husband, though I will not dwell on that subject...*clears throat*
We showered Jenny Bear with gifts as a suprise to honor her on her upcoming accomplishment and future success.
Then it was time for hotdogs before a sad departure of the childrens' beloved Great Grandparents, Great Aunt & Great Uncle. After they left and darkness fell, it was time for the finale...
Mawmaw and Pawpaw had prepared a firework show just for the grandkids. It was so wonderful to enjoy the bright and colorful explosions that filled our sky with all of the family. It was a very special day and I actually look forward to next year's Big Bash...I just hope it's a little closer, besides, I almost bring birthed half the honorees--heheee!
Have a super weekend!
MUCH LOVE
:)(:spacecase:)(: How it changed my life:Well I was a real grump about this party the whole time it was in the works, and now I see just how much negative energy I wasted...I never said I wasn't a bit hard-headed ;)
