Sounds fishy. I think whoever's program it is doesnt want you to leave. They shouldn't ask you to install something to uninstall something. Run a virus check or search for spyware. Use spybot or adaware. |

it might help if you told us what kind of toolbar it is.... But you shouldn't need to download something to delete a program. |

I tried doing it that way...I went to the control panel, Add/Remove programs, and when I clicked to remove it, it opened up a webpage saying I needed to download something. I'm not downloading it yet...don't think I am...might just delete this dang computer and start from scratch. :-p lol |

sounds like a virus. Try the adaware or spybot first. |

you have a virus it sounds like...go to www.grisoft.com download their AVG free antivirus program.Run the program. If it clears up,then it did it's job.If it says it can not remove the virus then copy yhe name of the program it gives you.Go to find at your start menu and enter that name. When it comes up,left click the infected program and that will allow you to delete it to recycle bin...then empty your recycle bin. Restart and it should be gone.I had to repeat this for 3 different viruses recently. It works! I hope ya get rid of it!~Don aka |
