Depends on how big the lick is each time you take one. A small lick with the tip of the tongue is only a fraction of a lick compared to one that uses the whole body of the tongue and that borders on an actual suck. The full suck takes place when the roof of the mouth is involved for any length of time, but as this is not a true lick, it shouldn't count, IMO. It's hard to resist a suck and to stick only to licking, you know.  |

well...ya know....I got a huuuuuuuge jar full of these suckers....I could try....BUT..I really don't have the patience so I'm sure I'd have to eat the whole canister (well over 50 of them) before I could find the patience to only lick on til the center..  |

I did it a couple of weeks ago for work! lol. my boss said if I would do it, she'd buy my lunch. So, I counted both, for one side it took me 312 licks, and to get rid of all the sucker around the tootsie it was like 737 or something, I'll find my paper if I can lol.  |

*CRUNCH* I've been watching that owl since I was a little lemon and he always said three before he ate that darn lollipop...I guess we'll never know! Of course you could go out and buy one and count how many licks it takes you to get to the chewy center of the tootsie pop and then let us know.  |
