I Love Glen and His Starbucks Commercial!! Seen it? *~amers~*

I think the title pretty much says it all. I am completely infatuated with Glen and his commercial. I don't even like Starbucks that much, I've actually only been there twice, but this commercial almost makes me want to go there and have people sing a song about me.

For those of you who haven't seen it, this commercial involves a guy named Glen (obviously) who wakes up and grabs a Starbucks Double Shot Espresso out of the fridge and starts drinking it. As soon as he does, the band Survivor (Eye of the Tiger, from Rocky) appear in his living room and start singing a song about Glen, using the music from Eye of the Tiger. They follow Glen around various places: While he's shaving, walking down the street, waiting and riding the bus and when he's on the elevator at work. The song ends when Glen gets off the elevator at work, looking highly empowered. Then they have a little blob about Starbucks, and it goes back to the elevator. Suddenly another man walks past drinking an espresso and the band points at him and starts chasing him, starting over with their song (Roy! Roy, Roy, Roy...)

Here's the lyrics: Glen's the man, going to work. Got his tie, got ambition. Middle management is right in his grasp, it's a dream he will never let die. Glen's the man of the hour, he's the king of the cube. Status quo reports have finally met their rival. (Glen's) burning the candle at both ends on his way to the top. He knows one day he just could become...supervisor. Roy! Roy, Roy, Roy...

I just think this commercial is hilarious, but that's because I went to a school that had the Tiger as a mascot and we played Eye of the Tiger about 20 times a day and it's very addicting. Gotta love the band for their little parady and the guy running around in a purple shirt and gold pants. Plus, I think Glen's hot.

Obviously, I love this commercial. Have you seen it? What do you think about Glen and Roy?

Date: 6/26/2004 2:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 11348    I haven't seen it! I'll have to keep an eye out. I have a tendency to just tune out commercials and pay no attention whatsoever.
Date: 6/26/2004 2:50:00 AM  From Authorid: 62085    Interesting, i graduated from the University of Memphis--it was called Memphis State back then, we had a real tiger for a mascot at the football games. I was also born in the chinese year of the tiger. What trips me out is the starbucks logo-- why do they use the Godess Isis as their logo? Seems alot of corporate logos are going occultic-- sorta like P&G using occult logos on crest*, & tide* products.
