Brian Deneke was a 19 year old punk rocker from Amarillo Texas his life ended in 1997. He was a son, a brother, and a friend, and was struck by a car by Dustin Camp on December 12, 1997.
My opinion may not matter to anyone but I had to tell it anyway. I personally think everyone should support Brian. As you’ve probably noticed, I’m a huge Brian supporter and have been for awhile now. I think his death was so unfair and so was his murderer’s punishment. Dustin Camp got 10 years probation for killing Brian. He was supposed to have a $10,000 fine but even that got probated unless his probation was revoked. So he really only got 10 years probation. At least as far as I've found out. That’s like a punishment for stealing a car, or robbing a store or something. Not taking someone’s life. Dustin Camp got off basically scott-free, for killing a young man - cutting him down, way before his prime which is unfair to not only Brian's friends and family, but to Brian himself. Not to mention all the pain his family and friends must have suffered after Brian's death. Brian went through so much that he didn't deserve. He was treated unfairly because of how he looked and the lifestyle he lived and finally it went too far. The hate took the life of an innocent person. If there wasn't so much hate and resentment, Brian would probably still be alive today. I will always have a place for Brian in my heart. Now, you don't have to agree with me, and you can say I'm wrong. But, this is what I believe. This is something I strongly believe in and always will. I look at pictures of Brian and I think about how unfair this all is. I may not have known him personally and I don't know everything there is to know about him or what happened but I see what he went through and I feel bad for him. Bad that he had to put up with all of that just to have his life cut short anyway. As the quote goes: "A little peace never killed anyone...Differences did."
They think Dustin Camp, a jock, killed Brian for being different. I didn't know him personally but he seemed really cool.... He went to Tascosa and was killed in the Western Plaza shopping Centers parking lot.
