Things like this made me lose my faith. |

Hmm...I have wondered about this myself. I think it is speaking of the Christians who died before Christ actually walked on Earth: they are the dead in Christ. We are the ones that are alive and remain. We will be caught up together with them. I think that's what this is saying. I'll have a better answer for this tomorrow. *LoveisAll* |

I think it means the Christians will leave first... it says that He will come like a theif in the night, so maybe we will be in bed when He comes? |

McBacon, don't let things like this cause you to lose your faith. God gave us the Holy Spirit to lead us in to all truth. If you would have had faith and prayed over the scriptures you didn't understand, God would have given you revelation. That's why we are supposed to pray and meditate on the scriptures. *LoveisAll* |

1) Perhaps the passage is speaking of the resurrection of the physical body. At the rapture, our bodies and spirits are reunited. 2) Perhaps when we die, we are dead. There is no part of us that goes to heaven while our body stays buried. At the rapture, all will be resurrected. |

I agree with LoveIsAll and believe that is what my pastor said at one point when we were discussing that issue during our confirmation. It's been a long time and that wasn't my primary concern at the time of the process of reaffirming my faith and joining the church. I am ashamed to admit that, but it was something that he addressed. -DeltaRebel |

Many people believe that the moment you die, you either go to heaven or to hell and you don't. You are in a deep sleep (well your soul is) until judgment day. On that day all that have died will face God and judgment. That is why it says that the saved will rise first. Hope that helps. Hugs, |

There are many mistakes in the Bible KJ and this is one of them. The minute that we pass over to the other side , our Soul disconnects from the physical body and continues it's life there. The Soul and the spirit are eternal and never die. The physical body is left behind to disintegrate and will never be used again , so when the Soul departs from the physical body the body now knows nothing at all.... because it's former intelligence and earthly memories are taken into the next world by the Soul! My niece passed away last week and was buried on tuesday morning .. she came to me the next day to show me that she still lives ... of this I had no doubt .Jesus demonstrated this very thing that those who pass on continue to live as you know... did not Jesus show us himself after the crucifiction that this is true ? This is why He came back .... to prove to us that life is indeed eternal and no one ever dies... we simply pass on to a higher plane and it is not necessary to rise again on earth ... but we have now risen again in the next world to a new life! |

I don't think that that is a mistake Posey, would you like to point out some of the other mistakes the bible has in it? Just because you may not understand something doesn't mean it's a mistake. *LoveisAll* |

Oh no LIA, there's no mistake here , there are many more things in the Bible that have been changed by man ... but would you believe me if I told you what they are? Just because you have not seen anyone who has passed into the next life shortly after they have passed over and see that they are once again alive and well and...... definitely "wide awake" does not mean that others haven't! |

No, Posey I believe that you saw what you say you saw. I also believe that evil spirits can manifest themselves any way they want. So if they want to look like someone you know, they can. The bible says as much when it says, " An no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.(2Cor14) Evil can look any way it wants to. If we can be deceived by the things of this world, how much more can we be deceived by the things of the spiritual realm? I saw weird things like that and communicated with many spirits when I was into the new age. I see things completely different now that I see things in the Spirit. God Bless Ya! *LoveisAll* |

Love is all, how is it that you can see things in the spirit of God and others cannot? lol.Surely you must know that God is over and above all evil and if one asks for the Father's guidance and protection (as I do!)they are certain to receive it ! No, LIA, you are very much mistaken in your belief that the mythical "devil" has more power than God has. I am always amazed at those who insist to me that those who live in the other world are all evil and that God does not have the power to prevent their "satan" from impersonating our loved ones . How very sad that God receives so little credit for HIS greatness. I don't mean to insult you, but if those who are still seeing only evil beings when they call upon their loved ones, then there is something very much amiss. This belief is one of Christianity's greatest errors in teaching people that all those who have passed on are evil! What you are saying then is even though you are a good person while here on earth and follow the Christian religion....but that when you "die" you are going to become evil? Nonsense... , this is NOT the way it works. You are being misled in this belief , if this is what your preacher is telling you. There are many Christian ministers who do not agree with this belief and have said that they themselves have seen their own loved ones since they have passed on... even Billy Graham has said that he has seen his loved ones and he recognized them and was so happy to know they STILL live! |

Love is all, I am sorry to be so long in answering you , but I have been with my sister ( the mother of the one who passed away)and only got home last night. I accept your kind condolence and I know that you did not understand that my niece's "death" was very recent ..just 2 weeks ago.As I told you I have had contact with her since she has left us and I passed her message on to her mother who was greatly comforted by it! You may be sure that this lady is still very much alive and so happy to be with her beloved husband again. I miss her... but do not grieve because I know where she is at. Thank you hon, I know you are a good and kind person and that you meant no harm! Blessings to you and yours also! |

Billy Graham may have said that, I aint sure, but he is also commiting a sin for getting into Spiritualism. Posey dear, do you know its a Sin? Because God clearly tells us not to be Spiritualists.. |

Also, Jesus has said everything that is happening in this world so far, such as what he prophesied. Its very awsome that he knew so well.. but its not suprise since he was and still is GOD! |

Oh my, KJ... Billy Graham is now a Spiritualist? I don't think so ! lol. Whatever gave you that idea? I am certain that he would be a bit surprised to hear this hon! lol.So you believe that anyone who is a Spiritualist is committing a "sin" if they communicate with those in the other world? But what about how Jesus spoke to God and others in the other world, and received messages from them too , think about Moses, Paul, Noah ,Job and dozens of others who also communicated with God... just as the Spiritualists do... were they then committing a sin or are these things reserved only for Jesus and other Bible characters and to be practiced by them and none other? According to what you have said then... Billy Graham , Jesus and I etc. are all sinners? Have you forgotten that Jesus said that whatever He did ... we can do also ? Why is everything a "sin" that must be punished by an eternity in hell fire and brimstone? KJ, remember that Jesus taught love and mercy, not fear and bloodshed ! If you believe that Jesus is God then who was Jesus communicating with in the Garden of Gethsemane? Who was running the universe when Jesus was here on earth... and at the crucifiction of Jesus ...then the Romans actually killed God ? Oh my! I had no idea! |

Being dead in Christ simply means that a Christian's physical body is dead and that the believer is with Christ in heaven. You must understand that just as Jesus was risen from the dead in physical bodily form, we too are promised the same. We will be given new eternal physical bodies. The disciples could touch the risen Lord and He ate food with them. So even though christians today die and go to heaven, they wait to be reunited again with their physical body. These bodies will be different than before, for they will last forever and forever. |
