B Monkey....LOL! I don't think it's that cause I never had that problem when I got my first tattoo. I had my fiance check out my back, where it itches, and he said there are some patches on my back. ![]() |

Have any of you guys heard of it? I'm not sure if this is what I might have, but it looks like it...I hope it's nothing too serious :( ![]() |

Base...I just read that it's suppose to go away on it's own. They say usually around 6-12 weeks, if I read correctly. I guess since the weather has been much warmers, it's been causing me to itch there also. I hate it! I hate it! I hate it! ![]() |

I have something strange too that I've wondered about for a long time. I get red splotches kinda, on my chest, stomach and neck area a lot, looking like a rash... but unlike yours, mine go away. They come back all the time in different places but I don't know what causes it or what brings it on. Maybe this is somehow related to what you have. Anyway, I hope it goes away for you. ![]() |

I doubt it's rosea. I've had it before, and it doesn't appear on your face. You get it mainly on your arms, trunk and back. The give away is a formation down your chest in the shape of a Christmas tree (hence, alternative name "Christmas rash"). Also, your onset doesn't sound at all like it-- it normally begins with a lesion or two, then a week or two later you suddenly break out all over your arms and trunk and it takes a few weeks from there to clear up completely. My guess is it might be a fungal infection. Have you seen a doctor about it? You should, because you don't want it to spread anymore if it is. Those things are a pain to get rid of. ![]() |
| Date: 7/29/2004 7:47:00 AM From Authorid: 62074 I too have actually had this problem before just as you described and I couldn't afford the medicine, so my sister which is an experienced pharamacy tech told me to get foot fungus spray...sure it didn't smell to rosey but it did get rid of it! Hope this helps! Zim Matrix660 |

Molly cat...I haven't noticed any on my arms or legs. There is a big patch on the right side of my upper tummy going towards my chest but I can't make it out into a christmas tree shape. I haven't seen a doctor about it because I honestly can't afford it. When I was at the doctor's last time, about a month or two ago, the doctor noticed the rashes/patches on my back when he was checking out my muscles and he just said he noticed them there but didn't say anything about it. ![]() |

What about vitiligo? It is what Michael Jackson has, the loss of pigment from your skin. Good luck, and I hope you find a good dermatologist ![]() |

wow, he noticed it and didn't say anything else about it? What a great doctor! I did a search for a rashes on a medical engine and came up with a list of some possible conditions: Contact dermatitis following exposure to: Dyes and other chemicals found in clothing Chemicals found in elastic and rubber products Cosmetics Feminine deodorants Poison ivy and poison oak Eczema Medications or insect bites that cause allergic reactions Various diseases can cause rashes, including: Measles Lupus erythematosus Roseola Hand-foot-mouth disease Fifth disease Juvenile arthritis Kawasaki disease and of course, fungal infections. There is a type of fungus called tinea that causes a slowly spreading rash on your skin. A patch will start off as a small reddish circle where the skin may be smooth but can be scratched off (because it is dead) making it all rough and scaly and, as it spreads outwards, the middle of the rash heals, giving it a ring-like appearance (hench, it's alternate name, ringworm). It spreads by contact to other parts of the body. If you think you might have ringworm, you can buy over the counter creams at the supermarket, though I don't know how effective they are. ![]() |

Mollycat...Wow! You did a lot of research! I don't think that it's ringworm cause that's one of the first things that I looked in to and I don't see the ring like appearance. I tried scratching it before but hadn't been able to scratch off any dead skin and it's not that rough. It does look like it has some scales to it though. Hmm, all these weird things that I could have! Ahh! I appreciate your research very much! Thank you! I hope to find out what exactly it may be. ![]() |
