I've been curious about this movie but I won't pay to go see it. My friend said that she'll pay for the movie when it goes to the 3 dollare theater. I have the feeling that this is going to be one of those movies that you expect too much out of it...in other words..boring and not scary! lol |

well, whatever.. i thought it was good.. it's not what you'd expect from a horror movie. and that makes it good. the writer/director of this movie is a really good one, and I really liked it. |

I'm not dissing on your review or anything, but you didnt give a discription of what this movie is about...I just got back from it and i guess i was expecting too much out of this movie due to the exciting previews i have watched, because it wasnt what i expected..although it was interesting...ALSO i want to know your opinion on something....You watched the movie and you know that Ivy and Lucus (however you spell his name) were in love, which that is why she left the woods to go get mecidine....WELL i went to the yahoo reviews and the summary that yahoo gave was This movie was based on the love of KITTY and LUCUS, rather than KITTY's older (or younger, whichever) Blind sister IVY....What happend there? Here is the link, let me know what you think http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=info&id=1808488393 |

You know, we rented the Secret Window with Johnny Depp (Stephen King movie) and I felt the same way about it that you do about The Villiage! Its sad nowdays when you can see a decent horror movie and you can figure out the ending halfway through! |

I just came back from seeing the movie. I have to say, it wasn't what I had expected. I didn't really get scared at all...what did creepy me out was the idea behind the story...you know, the extreme people will go to to preserve innocense and whatnot. I thought that was creepy in itself. The movie also got me to thinking how the times have changed. So I'll say it was a good movie and worth my time. I mean, hey, it got me thinking. I know most people just want to jump in their seats and scream...but I think I got a little bit more. ;) |

I agree with most of what people are saying here. The idea is good, but the execution lacked. People are going to see M. Night Shymalan movies with high expectations, and "The Village" disappoints, in that regard anyways. Shymalan does a good job though of maintaining a creepy tone, and his consistent framed shots of two people conversing while being overwhelmed by their environment is genious. (The scene in which Lucious and Ivy bond, with fog looming in the screen, for example.) Shymalan has quirks, but he's still talented. |

let me reword my last comment.. someone got confused. the yahoo review shows people messing up and being stupid. hopefully, they'll change it now that the movie is out, or they're going to look like idiots. |

I loved the movie. I thought it was great. I am really glad I didn't know the secret or figure it out till the end when it was told. Adrian Brody was really good. I totally agree. And did you know Ivy is Ron Howard's daughter?? I thought she was really good. |
