I HATED being the new kid in school or in town for that matter. My parents and I moved to Oakwood County, Arizona a few months ago. It was horrible! We found a house in Oak Valley and discovered I'd being going to the nearby high school called Oakwood High. It didn't take us long to settle into our victorian style house. I was still bummed about moving away from my hometown, Elpaso, Texas. Even the the senery hadn't changed much where we moved to but I still didn't like Arizona. I missed my friends, I even missed my old highschool. First day at Oakwood High was terrible, as it usually is going to a new highschool. Never before have I experienced such hatred. I mean, every highschool has it's problems but not like this. There was never a time when there was a fight going on either in the cafeteria or in the halls. Their favorite hobbies seemed to be picking on the new kids. I purchased lunch but I didn't eat because it ended up on my clothes. Some of the jocks thought it would be fun to see the new kid wear her food. On the second day of school I new better than to go to the cafeteria. Instead, I made a dash to the bathroom nearest to my next class. But I soon realized I wasn't safe there either. There was a group of girls huddled in a corner facing the door. Everybody peeked over their shoulders at my arrival. A burnette (obviously the "leader" of the group) walked over to where I stood next to the door. "Your new aren't you?" She asked. "Is that obvious?" I repled. She shrugged. "Since I'm nice and you seem cool. I was wondering if you wanted to join the group?" "Sure!" I didn't even know her name I was just glad that I was finally making friends. I followed her over to the group of huddled girls. She introduced me to everyone. "This's Holly, Marie, Kaylie, Natia, Nicole, Missy, and I am Katln. Who are you?" "Ginger," I replied. None of the girls seemed to care who i was but one of the girls handed me a cigerette. I'd never been around anybody that smoked much lessed smoked myself. But I wanted to look cool so I put it in my mouth and inhaled. I choked and coughed and choked some more. Katln laughed. "Yep, diffinetly and new timer. It some getting used to." She took the cigerette from me and inhaled without coughing. I was amazied. I new what I was doing was wrong. But I figured everybody did it here and I didn't want to be singled out. I just wanted to fit in. I just wanted to be like everybody else. Cool. "So, what are you doing tonight..Around sunset?" Katln asked. "Nothing," I replied. "Well, we were wondering if you wanted to meet us at Oakwood forest. We are playing a game and need one more person." A game? I thought this was highschool. Not elementary. But nonetheless I was glad to be invited somewhere. "Sure!" Little did I know this was going to be no elementary game....... How it changed my life:I hope it's not too long. And if it is then I would greatly appreciate it if you was would read it anywaz and give your opinion on it.
