DOES MICHAEL MOORE NEED BUSH-------KURTVEDDER

  Author:  45630  Category:(Debate) Created:(8/5/2004 5:57:00 PM)

I honestly think that Michael Moore needs George W Bush as his own little cash cow. Without him Moore would not be able to feed that gargantuan gut of his. Also if Kerry gets elected and Moore starts attacking him he will be known for what he truly is, a whiner and a one trick pony. The only thing that makes him successful is shock value, it's funny how he never mentions the good, only the bad. What do you think?

Date: 8/5/2004 6:02:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45630    hahaha probably!!!
Date: 8/5/2004 6:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    Oh pullleeeze! Even without Bush, the Michael Moore's have tons of material and issues in this country to dig into and expose. I hear his next project is going after insurance companies and the big powerful HMO'S in an expose called "Sicko". Personally, I wish he would go after the likes of mega-bucks religion business guys like Falwell, Robertson, Tilton, et al. SOME people do not like to, nor want to be exposed, Kurt.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 36704    so how many people are gonna go see the documentary Michael Moore Hates America?
Date: 8/5/2004 6:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    I don't think he NEEDS George Bush, there are plenty of other people he can raise false allegations on, give a bad image about and skew and misconstrue the facts about. President Bush is only the big fish for now......
Date: 8/5/2004 6:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    Micheal Moore has made millions off trashing Bush. He of course won't attack Kerry because Moore's audience is the radical left and the uninformed. His whole career is built on it. He'll go after business, religion, any target that his fan base will support. He IS a one trick pony but the trick is working and the legions will continue to line his pockets.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 2030    Micheal Moore is of course talented, So was P.T. Barnum. But he admitted being a capitalist.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 55967    You're partially right. Moore doesn't need Bush as much as a dominatrix needs a submissive with which to identify herself, but he USED Bush here to get more money. Like Thinker said, there are tons of material to get if one just looks. He needed him now for a quick couple million, that's all.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:28:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45630    The fact of the matter Thinker is that Moore is a one trick pony. He can do nothing but complain. I saw bowling for columbine and I agreed with some of his theories but the fact is that if you are going to accurately portray someone you have to weigh up the pro's and the con's of that person before passing judgement. He is like the coward that sucker punches someone without asking for an explanation.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 45630    Exactly Bcar, he won't attack Kerry so he needs bush and other right winged people to attack to further his bank balance.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    What Michael Moore needs is an audience with a huge appetite for convoluted conspiracy theories.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 17081    It's true. Does Michael Moore have any other material other than making lies up about Bush? Michael Moore is one person that really gets on my nerves. I don't know how anyone can stomach his negativity and lies.
Date: 8/5/2004 6:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 59261    Mike Moore doesn't need anyone. He delves into any
story to uncover truth. He's the only out there in the spotlight talking for us hard working Americans who haven't been heard. Freedom of speech forever. Gag someone you may as well gag yourself...Live love laugh

Date: 8/5/2004 7:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 22080    how about this, hes the typical guy with political views. if kerry gets elected, which i hope he does, and does horribly i think many people will want him out as well. its how things work. its also called OPINIONS.
Date: 8/5/2004 7:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    I guess you never saw Bowling For Columbine...
Date: 8/5/2004 8:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    He SURE doesn't speak for me.......THAT's for sure, just the opposite. If anyone is really after the truth, just do some research on how skewed his "facts" are-doctored, mistated, placing different pieces of events and footage in a way that is convinient for what HE wants to portray, conviniently leaving out information and common sense that makes a world of difference. How he sleeps at night putting forth all that twisting and mangling of facts, leaving innacurate impressions, is beside me.....
Date: 8/5/2004 8:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 49101    On a pillow of fresh hundreds I would immagine Chi. :D
Date: 8/5/2004 8:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    Yep on a pillow full of fresh hundreds from the fools he's duped:p

Date: 8/5/2004 8:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    Sorry, those links aren't coming out spaced right. There are 4 different ones.
Date: 8/5/2004 8:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 61897    I also just noticed I kept spelling "convenient" and "conveniently" wrong.....Agh! Long day, been here since 7am, it's now TEN!
Date: 8/6/2004 3:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    ...In all fairness, people are so polarized now in America if a left wing person like Moore comes along and makes a film, to all the Bush supporters it is going to be full of lies and misleading editing. To people who dont like Bush to begin with it is a brilliant piece of filmmaking with only debatable opinions, not facts. Depending which side of the divide you are on Moore is as one recent post put it "A King or a Villiage Idiot", but one thing i do know is he does free speech a good service by doing what he does.
Date: 8/6/2004 3:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    Mostly I agree with Jestr
Date: 8/6/2004 3:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 62506    Did Moore make money off his documentory? Of course he did. This is after all a Capitolist Society, where making money is the cornerstone of our nation. One important measure of the success of Moores movie is by the ammount of frog skins (moolah)he pulled in.It is also an indicator of how many American Citizens are disgruntled with the Bush administration. His right to bash Bush is the same right you have to bash Moore. It's a protected right that you both have. It's called the Freedom of Speach. The difference between Bush and Moore is that Moore exercizes his Constitutional Rights,Bush on the other hand, has stomped on the Constitution by invading a foreign country (Iraq) that was not a threat to the United States.By doing so Bush usurped his authority.Instead of being Impeached for his misuse of power,he has succussfully dupped American Citizens into believing his war mongering prattle and has gotten away with his destructive activities. The Constitution was written for all Americans...not just for the Republicans.Moore is,BTY,to properly put it...a multi trick pony, having numerous films under his belt. There are many films that I too don't care to see...I just don't bother waching them.I opt not to criticize them, but your right to critique them is perfectly acceptable in todays society and I encourage you to do so.However,it makes more sense to me to voice my complaints at the voting booth, which I intend to do,come November.
Date: 8/6/2004 5:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 41067    The reality will always be somewhere in between. Bush is not the worst leader in the world, I will agree with that, but neither is he the most wonderful leader ever either. He has lied, and he has used the American people, and vicariously the people of other countries, for his own benefit and for his and his friends own reasons in my opinion, and I certainly don't trust him, but I also know that there will always be a certain amount of truth twisting on the 'anti-Bush' side too. That’s what the media is, a platform for any side to try and paint themselves in the best light possible.
Date: 8/6/2004 6:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    Moore doing what he does is not the issue. Like I said P.T. Barnum set the bar. But to try and cloak his capitalism in righteous indignation and some "quest for the truth" is just bunk. he's a whole lot closer to Haliburton, and Enron, and the wealthy than he is to the struggling common man.
Date: 8/6/2004 6:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 24924    Woodshed, EXCELLENT reply! Applause!
Date: 8/6/2004 6:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 25828    LOL - he is a disgusting guy - i saw his columbine documentary too..and didn't like him after that, it was slanted towards one view and left out lots of info. i liked fahrenheit 911, but still, it was slanted. he can get ridiculous sometimes
Date: 8/6/2004 9:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 4144    i don't think he needs bush. i think he needs a good swift kick in his butt. maybe kick it all the way out of the country. maybe show him what a great country he lives in and shut up!
Date: 8/6/2004 11:34:00 AM  From Authorid: 26363    If MM hates America so much then why doesn't he immigrate? There are plenty of other nations he can he can take a few bucks for. Not impressed at all with him other than he can make a lot of bucks from a lil bullocks.
Date: 8/6/2004 1:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 39360    Ah, the American dream Morning Glory ;-) No, I'm just joking. But, why is it that when a person says they don’t like the way the country is being run they seem to get leapt upon and told they should shut up and comply or get out? America is always being held up as 'the land of the free' but how is it that if when you do raise your voice you get treated like you shouldn't be there? You can still be proud of a nation and not be proud of the ways it's run. I imagine that’s the reason the people who do have a problem with the government choose not to emigrate; that would simply be running away rather than trying to fix the problem.
Date: 8/15/2004 4:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 51070    I agree with you, Thinker. To see some of these religious fanatics be esposed would brighten me up! LOL! Did anybody see the documentary "He1l House"? You might want to check that out, Thinker, if you'd like to see some really crazy religious zealots. :)
Date: 8/15/2004 4:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 51070    Another thing I thought of: why's it all right for Rush Limbaugh to trash people left and right, but when Michael Moore does it, it's the crime of the century? An outrage? Tsk, tsk - never could understand it. Being this is supposedly the land of the free, Michael Moore and Limbaugh should share the same rights - freedom of speech, even if I don't agree with their views. This isn't a facist society, after all. Everyone can say what s/he wants, right? :)
Date: 9/2/2004 1:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 26445    i can say that moore in no way represents my views of my president. He twisted many facts and molded them into one larger untrueth. I am truley sick of certain wealthy , famious people trying to tell me what is best for our country and the average person. They have no clue. Moore is a millioniare, how in the world could he possibly understand what it is like to worry about bills, taxes and a mortgage? I am smart enough to see through the crap he put out there and i think it should not be called a documentary, it is propaganda, pure and simple.
