Slam Poetry (or a Poetry Jam) has been around for a couple years-- it's really neat to listen to. It's still 'underground' in the US-- not hugely popular. But I think it's been featured on TV a few times.  |

They have a Def Poetry Jam special on HBO every so often. Some of it's not bad. Especially when two people go on stage at once and bounce it off one another. Hooray for insomnia-induced late night cable viewing. -  |
