He's a teacher, he shouldn't be offended. Everybody is different so tell him your having a problem, perhaps he has a different way of tackling it. You never know till you speak up. |

Tell him that you aren't where you thought you would be 6 months later... maybe he will realize that you are ready to move on to other things and start teaching you different stuff. :) -Lindsay |

Ask him how your progression thus far is and tell him that you feel you want to try to learn at a faster pace. As a teacher, he shouldn't be offended by that. |

If he's a teacher, I'm sure he would appreciate your input on what you'd like to learn. Just ask him, it never hurts to ask, and if he takes it the wrong way, then I'm sorry to say this, but he shouldn't be teaching. *hugs* ~Angel Wolfe~ |

Just like you said, ask him if you're progressing at all. If he says no, ask him if you could try a different approach at learning. Just remember it does take a lot of time to learn an instrument. You might be learning more than you think. |

If you understand music well you might be so much better off learning on you're own. I am. I would teach you - but that is kinda impossible seeing how we don't live near eachother. |
