Any other animal "foster parents" know how I feel? ** UPDATE**

At my work, we got this stray pit bull in. He is THE SWEETEST dog ever. I've been taking care of him for the past week or so and I have just fallen in love with him. My boss informed me the other day that since he was a stray they were going to put him down. I couldn't see this happening to such a young and wonderful dog just because he was a stray, so I left notes all over my work place for my boss and co workers to not put the dog to sleep because I will find him a home. I love this dog soo much I was going to take him myself if no one else wanted him. As soon as I got home from work that night I got ahold of anyone I could asking them if they'd like to take the dog. I finally found a friend of the family to take him. I am soo happy he's going to a good home, but I still worry for him, you know? He's not out of the dog house yet either. My boss still needs to get ahold of me today for the O.K. that he can go to his new home. I'm a nervous wreck. LOL

********************UPDATE************************************* So, the dog is able to be adopted and I'm going to be bringing him to his new owner tomorrow night. WAHOOOO!!!!! All he needs is his shots, a bath, and then he's free to go. :D :D I'm soo happy. *Bonus* I get to doggie sit him next weekend. :)

Date: 8/7/2004 8:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 11251    Thank you for taking in that dog, and if you know it's a good home, be happy. So many dogs never get that second chance at life. Pitties have it the worst because of their undeserved reputation. Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. I have worked in rescue for about a year and a half now. Every adoption I do I am always a wreck, but I do reaize that the ones I do adopt out will almost always end up in their forever home. Hope all works out.
Date: 8/7/2004 8:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 62737    Awww... good for you for finding him a home!! I've taken in two foster kitties... who now have become members of my family lol No way I could give them up after bottle-feeding them and such. I also have a pit-mix I found in our local pound. She had been abused previously, and the authorities took her. Afraid no one else would want her, I took her in, and she is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever had!!! Good to know there are more animal lovers out there! :-)--- Summer Sunset
