1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa or European style cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup canola oil or vegetable oil
1/2 cup egg whites (about 4 large), beaten until foamy
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Powdered sugar (optional)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8 inch square baking pan with vegetable cooking spray. In small bowl, stir together flour, cocoa and baking powder. In medium bowl, stir together granulated sugar, brown sugar and oil; stir in beaten egg whites and vanilla. Gradually stir in cocoa mixture until blended. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars or other desired shapes wtih small cookie cutters. Sift powdered sugar over tops, if desired.
Store, covered at room temperature.
