A Night With Dead Rock Stars........................Hack

There are those who die
too young, too soon,
too tired to take another step,
too talented to be forgotten.
Too near the sun
some soar unfettered,
too high and too fast
to be tied to this earth.

The stars that burn with the brightest light
paint our eyes with liquid dreams,
and the night-time,
oh, the night-time,
the night sky provides
their black-light backdrop.

The vastness of space frames within
both the past and present.
The blackness is now—
the speed of dark is time itself,
and the shine of distant stars
deliver tales and songs
of lingering glories.

There are those who die
too young, too soon,
too tired to take another step,
too talented to be forgotten.
Too near the sun
some soar unfettered,
too high and too fast
to be tied to this earth

There are melodies built
on the movement of star-dance,
—Too young, too soon
breaks the darkness of night—
as well as
daylight vision
of the darkness of now.
