HAND COOKIES   Author:  23075  Category:(Household) Created:(9/27/2004 8:52:00 AM) This post has been Viewed (409 times) 1 cup sugar 3/4 cup shortening (part margarine or butter, softened) 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla or 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough 3/16 inch thick on lightly floured cloth covered board. Place hand lightly on dough; trace around hand with pastry wheel. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until no intentation remains when touched, 6 to 8 minutes. Decorate as desired. About 15 cookies.
