It works wonders. We took in a stray cat several years ago who was covered in fleas. It was awful. Our carpet was infested within a matter of hours. Borax (I thik it was borax acid that we used) killed them within a few days. It's cheap too. Great tip!  |

Do you mean 20 Mule Team Borax or Boric acid,because they are two totally different things..Borax is comprised of 99.5% pure borax, a naturally occurring mineral composed of sodium, boron, oxygen, and water. (The scientific name for borax is sodium tetraborate decahydrate.) The remaining 0.5% is composed of trace minerals...Boric Acid is the result of Borax reacting with sulfuric acid or another mineral...You may want to clairify this so people don't go out and buy the wrong stuff,which could have less than desired results :) |

Well, how we got rid of our fleas, we gave the dogs a flea treatment thing, and GOT RID OF THE CARPETS!!! Carpets aren't good with pets. haha. They just mess it up.  |

I'll have to grab some of that stuff. We have fleas :( Is that stuff cheap and is it safe to have around the pets? How long do you let it settle into the carpet? Would it also help putting some of it under the couch and bed as well?  |

Borax is the stuff that can be found in the laundry detergent isle. Its safe to wash your clothes in I know that. You let it grind down into your carpet (AFTER) you vacumme. You let it stay in carpet until you vacumme next time. You sprinkle it after you vacumme every time |

I dont know how safe this stuff is so ask the vet or your doctor before useing it. I know it doesnt bother me or my family but everyone is different so check it out before you use it
