I wonder when people will understand the whole Israel/Palistine conflict isn't about Land, but about hating Jews and wanting them all dead. I personally could never support racist, vultures like this no matter what the cause....imagine Jay Leno doing a man on the street interview. Question: Could you shake a muslims hand even though they are beheading Americans in the name of their God in Iraq? I would be ashamed if the answers were even half as evil and rancid as those above....but an answer like those above would never happen, because to us the whole war in Iraq and the broader war on Terror isn't about Religion...but it doesn't mean it isn't about religion to the other side. ![]() |

The United Nations wouldn't have anything to do if they weren't passing resolutions against Israel....they'd have to think about small, pesky little problems like genocide in the Sudan, Aids running rampant in Africa, sexual slavery of woman and children in 3rd world countries, Nukes in North Korea and Iran...you know, stuff the United States is suppose to take care of....remind me again why we pay dues to this country club of thugs, leaches and dictators? ![]() |

Even in their hearts, if they would, do you really think they would say so for others to hear ? Probably not....It's called self- preservation... ![]() |
| Date: 9/29/2004 8:14:00 AM From Authorid: 51649 If you were to go around Israel asking the Jews whether they would want to shake the hand of a Muslim do you think that they would not think their replies would be similar to the replies you have shown. And also this is a small fraction of a population so it doesn't show an entire cultures viewpoint. |

I think if we were going to see this kind of united thinking it would have happened directly after 9-11 and we had what? A handful of incidents including one death I believe of an Indian man mistaken for a muslim. You might get this kind of thinking from white Supremist groups, who probably can't decide who to hate more, Jews, Muslims or anyone who isn't white and christian. We certainly aren't a perfect country full of love and light for all, but to get a united response like above about an entire religion?? I don't see it. And it isn't just your average man on the street. They teach it at schools, on tv, in the newspapers and from the pulpit weekly. ![]() |

Author 51649, No, you would not get the same replies in Israel. And I'm sorry to say, this is an entire cultures view point of Jews, at least a majority. If you bothered to read any of the translations that are available all over the entire web, you would see that this thinking is rampant and is there for all to see in newspapers, school books and childrens tv programing and the preaching from the Imans in most if not all Arab countries. Saudi Arabia has promised to change it's school books where they teach such charming things as Jews are comparable to Pigs...In many Arab countries if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport or are a Jew, you aren't allowed into the country. ![]() |

Oh and don't forget Kelly the wonderfull oil for food program run by the UN. Which turned into one of the most corrupt undertakings known to the organization. Funneling millions of dollars in cash directly into Saddam Hussiens pockets and not supprisingly into the coffers of a company that employed none other than Kofi Anan's son. ![]() |

It's sad because it dips into so many other cultures and faiths. I would hope no one would have that much hate but at the same time I don't really know what its like for them where they live. What they hear on a daily basis and what goes on so maybe their decision is based more on that. Media is a useful tool and sometimes I think the impact of it is like a mental A-bomb. ![]() |

A state that imposes restrictions on its citizens who marry people or a certain nationality is racist in my book BCAR. Of course governments like Israel and the US while constantly critisized are nowhere near on par with the levels of ignorance and hatred displayed in the above post. I suppose people will always need someone to blame. ![]() |

god this is so biased and exaggerated beyond its point. as a muslim myself god never stated in the koran that we should not shake hands with jewish and/or not befriend them in any way.. the prophet mohammad himself had a jewish neighbour and he would always visit him and vice versa, they would sit together during holidays and celebrate occasions together. this is ridiculous and adrienne please dont judge a religion based on a few people's reactions. thanks everyone and sorry for the long reply.. ![]() |

the hatred extends to both sides in this war. I wouldn't say it's even about hating jews-- it's about hating the person who isn't one of you. And that goes for how the Israelis feel about the Palestinians, too. ![]() |

kelly saudia arabia never "promised" anything, its the US government that imposed this rule of altering the school system in all government and private schools in the middle east including my own country due to all the supposed terrorist attacks going on in the world.(i also wonder why this hasnt been imposed upon christian and jewish schools?) this really saddens me and tears me up inside because religion is a priority and a way of life over here and having to take that away from our people what is there left to learn? ![]() |

and Absz is right-- not all muslims feel this way. Just the other day I was watching a documentary on children in Palestein (totally wonderful-- and completely heartbreaking). These children grow up watching family members being killed left and right by the Israeli army, and then the terrorist groups get ahold of them and brainwash them into thinking that it's great thing to "martyr" yourself by killing Israelis in return. A mother of one of the children was crying about all the madness, saying that she didn't want her son to join the resistance and kill Israelis, she wanted him to go to college and become a doctor or something, and that she wished both sides would cool it. So, you see, not all Palestinians are brainwashed and bloodthirsty. But this article is attempting to create the stereotype that they are, and thus is committing the same sin that the Palestinian terrorists do in their stereotyping of the Israelis. ![]() |

I didn't read the last parts, but I read the part where the person asked the questions and the 4 respondents didn't have a very polite answer. I am a christian and most people at my church believe that everyone has good inside. People are hateful towards other religions because they feel that the God/Goddess they worship is degraded, or that is how I think of it. I agree with Oddsmell, It's an eternal war. ![]() |

As far as I'm concerned... well... I'm not concerned. Who cares what's going on in Israel or Palestine, I don't have to live there. I'm sure there are things going on there that neither you or I understand in full and it's unfair to make assumptions based on such second hand knowledge. ![]() |

It is about Land. The Jews lost their land because god (their god) had taken it from them. It than became palastine land. Then we decided after the war to give it back to the Jews. Nowonder there is a eternal war, both these people have a right to live there. And I'm 100% sure the Jews are equally as racist toward the palastinians. ![]() |

The thing is the land belongs to the Jews, God gave it to them, then through wars it was taken or given? I don't know which, but both parties say God gave it to them, and even God said that these two parties of peoples will not get along and will always fight. Once again, God is right. ![]() |

Here's something you won't hear at your hometown church: Shaykh Akram Abd-al-Razzaq al-Ruqayhi delivers the sermon...Turning to politics, the imam says: "The sons of monkeys and the grandsons of pigs are committing aggression against the Palestinian people. ...Concluding, the imam prays to God: "O God, support those supporting Islam. O God, support the mujahidin in Palestine and elsewhere. O God, help them score victory over their enemy. O God, destroy the Zionist aggressors and the unjust Americans and their supporters."And on the official television station of the State of Qatar (who is supposed to be one of our main allies in the region), from Umar Bin-al-Khattab Mosque in Doha: Saykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi delivers the sermon. ...The imam then urges Qataris to abide by the law issued by the State of Qatar banning smoking at public places, schools, universities, and elsewhere. He also calls on Muslims to send the price they pay for cigarettes to the Palestinians and "to boycott Zionist and US goods," because "the battle is becoming fiercer." ...Concluding, the imam prays to God: "O God, give us victory over your enemies, the enemies of Islam. O God, protect us from their evils, weaken them, wipe them out, destroy their power, and prevent them from committing aggression against your servants. O God, destroy the aggressor, treacherous Jews. O God, destroy the aggressor Americans. O God, destroy the fanatic pagans. O God, destroy the tyrannical Crusaders.".....as I said, it isn't about religion for us...doesn't mean it isn't about religion for others. ![]() |

I realize this guy is no Jerry Falwell, but still he is pretty nasty: The following sermon was delivered at the Sheik 'Ijlin Mosque in Gaza, Palestinian Authority, The speaker was Sheik Ibrahim Madhi, and it was broadcast on Palestinian Authority television. August 3, 2001 "We must all seek a role in the Jihad and the battle. We said and we still say: 'Even if we, the entire (Palestinian) people, stood in line and signed for the Jews that we want peace, they would not accept it. The Koran is very clear on this: The greatest enemies of the Islamic nation are the Jews, may Allah fight them...' "All spears should be directed at the Jews, at the enemies of Allah, the nation that was cursed in Allah's book. Allah has described them as apes and pigs, the calf-worshipers, idol-worshipers. "Whoever can fight them with his weapons, should go out [to the battle]; whoever can fight them with a machinegun, should go out; whoever can fight them with a sword or a knife, should go out; whoever can fight them with his hands, should go out; This is our destiny. The people who are the most hostile toward the believers are the Jews and the Polytheists... The Jews have exposed their fangs. Nothing will deter them, except the color of their filthy people's blood; nothing will deter them except for us voluntarily detonating ourselves in their midst. They have nuclear power, but we have the power of the belief in Allah..." ![]() |
