I agree Phe, instead of having posts deleted that you don't agree with why not talk to the people involved. That way the whole conversation doesn't get erased only those that are really offensive. And if the post is not to your liking write a post about it but do it while the other post is still present not make insinuations. |

you can disagree all you like because that is your right but when your rights interfere with others who is in the right and who is making waves. A post is valid as long as it has people interested in it and making their opinions known, if you find the subject matter or the relevance of the post not to your taste then leave it, don't ruin it for everyone else that is interested in it and making an effort to get a dialogue going. I don't think it is right that one person can determine that a whole subject line should be erased because it isn't going in the direction that they want. |

I agree with you but then again, the sad truth is that USM is no different than the real world, it has it's moments and lots of good and special people, but none-the-less there's also gonna be injustice, animosity, popularity contests, alliances, not to mention those who think are the image of perfection. So bottom line, what I've learned is not to let it give you an ulcer, we have our everyday lives for that ;)  |

why would you do that? it wasn't a rude post and it wasn't against anyone. And if you are going to have that one erased why not the one about learning lessons from cartoons. It has reference to the attitudes that are prevaling around here. I find that to be offensive. |

Base I never said it was Phe that deleted it, I said that if one person has a problem with it then they should take it up with the offender. here is a message I just sent to PHE. "I apologize to you for thinking you deleted the post. In that post you did become rude and judgemental as well. You called those of us who didn't agree with you Lazy, greedy, mean etc. I have never heard you use that kind of derogatory language towards others and it shook me. I responded in kind and again I apologize." EVERYONE please believe me, I don't mean to make anyone think Phe is evil or mean. She isn't, this subject is just a sore spot with me. I am a hot head and took it out on Phe when really she was just the catalyst. |

Show me where the other one references the other post. She saw a show and liked the quote, the timing may be coincidental, but even had the post not been made I'm sure she would have posted the quote, and if the show wasn't on she wouldn't have posted the quote. I see nothing in the post that refers to USM but to society in general, it's a sarcastic quote meant to be humorous and make light of a situation. |

And the show referenced that same attitude she was referring to, you think the writers of the show saw the post at USM and hurriedly made a show all about it just because of that post? Base, give it up, you know that why you had it erased and that is fine, but if you are going to be down on something that doesn't suit your fancy don't try and defend something that is, however innocently, diametrically opposed. Why not leave both sides of the coin up for view. Even if you have items deleted it isn't going to sway anyone's opinion if anything it will make them stick to their guns even more. The post is cute and it is funny but the last line was unnecessary. |

I just sent Base a message. I have no Idea what show I'm suppose to have seen..I have used my mothers experience as an example in the past, though I never made a post about it. What a bunch of whinny garbage this turned out to be. I wasn't upset over the deletion until I just found out it was based on a show I supposedly saw?? Base is no all knowing and all seeing. Hip chick you did and it was but it wasn't just your response it was my whole story! I talked to the Admin that did it and added the bit at the bottom about it not being admins I was torqued at and he allowed it to stay when I resubmitted it. |

I think most would agree that there are certain things that cross the line-- most are covered in site rules (or, soon to be revised site rules). In these instances, I might contact and admin. Then again, I usually let it go, assuming that admins are going to catch it (and they do). As for having something deleted just because I disagree with the topic or what the person says about it...oh, heck no! I enjoy controversy too much. I'd much rather have it left up so that I can go argue with the person. :)  |

Magoo, I didn't ask to have the post deleted because I didn't agree with it or had a problem with it or was offended by it. I asked to have it deleted for other reasons and apparently the admin who deleted it thought my reasons were valid enough to do so. I'm sorry you're so upset about the post being deleted but I stand by my request. |
