~T.V. the great medium!?? lol~~*Phe*~

I was watching t.v. the other night with my hubby and a few commercials came on, infomercial style commercials (if that makes sense) and we noticed like the products they were trying to sell didn't really tell you what they did exactly. I wish I could remember the products but it's not coming to me now. Why spend the money on this kind of advertising without saying what it does or what it's for. It's like saying 'buy this for $29.99. You don't know what it is or what it does but you have GOT to have one!!'

I notice the same with some medication ads too. It's a hypochondriacs dream lol. They tell you the medication name, and the side effects but not what it's for. Maybe that helps Dr.s figure out who the hypochondriacs are lol. Imagine a man going into a Dr.'s office saying I need this medication...only to find out it's for a woman's only condition lol and vice versa.

What a funny world we live in lol. It's like we've gone back in time to the traveling "Dr.'s" that sold their cure all tonics.

Date: 9/29/2004 11:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 15675    ugh medication companies are evil! Don't even get me started on the 'drug reps' that 'bribe' the doctors with fancy lunches and merchandise (and dont tell me it doesnt happen because my Grandma is a cleaner at a doctors office so shes seen it lol with her own eyes!)
Date: 9/29/2004 11:26:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 609    I don't have a Dr right now but when I get one I hope Im lucky to have one with a great sense of humor, since I always joke with my Dr.s. I have plans to play a trick on him/her already where I write down the commircials and ask him/her to pescribe it to me but Im gonna find out exactly what it does first and go for the unlinkly ones lol...like male probs or flatulance LMAO
Date: 9/29/2004 11:39:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 609    My old Dr was nice enough to share all that info with me...horrid isn't it. When he recommended something to me I knew it was because he beleived in it. I was lucky with my last Dr. he couldn't be bought lol He moved away to help in a more needy town tho so I lost him *sigh* Its hard to find good Drs seriously!!
