I recently expierienced the holy spirit myself and yes it is a warm spirit that runs through your body. It is the greatest feeling I had ever expierienced. If this ever happens again dont be frightned just praise him and love him.....God Bless |

My mother had a similiar experience. She also wanted to receive the Holy Spirit into her life. This was 20 years ago and she still remembers her experience as if it were yesterday. The thing that stands out in her mind is speaking in tounges. The phrase she says is "Abba sheena manna delagdo manna mantu shana". Does anybody have any idea the meaning of this? Any help would be appreciated. |

hey there! That sounds like the spirit to me! The window gives me a bit of a wiggens too though. It may have been the enemy trying to attack. Or in simple terms trying to scare you. Pray to St. Micheal if you're afraid. The fear should pass. |

I had recieved the holy spirit a while back and the first time I recieved it was at my aunt's church. I was pregnant at the time and was looseing my vision. I was asking people to pray for me to regain my sight. I had people lay thier hands on me and I said a few things that I could not understand. They said "she just spoke in tounges" Since then I have thought that it was just alot of jibber jabber. I did go blind and through some time and surgery I have gained some sight back. My mom's x-boyfriend got in a real bad drunk driving accident. He was the one drinking and I did not like or get along with him at all. But when this happened to him I felt God calling me to come and lay hands on him and speak in tounges. So I did. He was in a coma for over a week. The day after I went down there to pray for him he woke up from his coma. I dont know if I had anything to do with that our not but I know the Holy spirit had something to do with it. It does scare me to speak in tounges, I feel that I could help alot of people but I am scared. I too get a warm feeling and like someone is there and watching me. I know it is Gods gift but I am not sure how to use it. I know that I could use alot of healing myself. I have a long list of problems. But I do know what your feeling and that is the "Holy Spirit" |

friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, I would be remiss if I did not tell you that I have also experienced the fullness of God in the form of the Holy Spirit, but I must also tell you that the Holy Spirit is not an "It" but a Him or "He" as He is fully God and the second person of the holy trinity. we are unwise and unskilled to call Him an it. anyway One day while alone on the farm I asked God to let me feel what it was like to be completely given over to the Holy Spirit and the experience scared me so much that I was afraid that I was losing my mind or losing touch with reality; it was overwhelming and I asked God to back off a little as I was afraid. I have always regretted that but God is still with me completely but not that completely and I have been used many times by Him. I have never spoken in tongues though. I feel that we who are given the abilities that the person above was talking about must walk in faith, using our abilities in a wise fashion for the good of God.
a good place to start is by reading what Jesus did in the new testament and then read what the prophets did in the old testament such as Samuel and the prophets before him. km |

Hello! I think this is a wonderful story. The rattleting on the window could be another manifestation of the "Holy Spirit". The Bible tells that Mt. Sinai would tremble cause God's precense(in our case today "The Holy Spirit")was there. Just keep on loving & living for God, so you wont sadden the Holy Spirit which has filled you! God Bless You! |

In December of 1994 my mom gave me a bible for Christmas. Growing up my mom always talked about speaking in tounges and when I received the bible that year I decided to try it. I knelt on my bed and just started "mumbling". I don't know what I was saying but I felt this feeling run through my entire body-I felt warm all over and felt very light and dizzy. It scared the daylights out of me and now, over 6 years later I have not tried it again because it scared me so much. I was only 17 at the time. Lately I have been trying to "find" myself and my spirit and have been thinking a lot about that day. After reading several books and reading your web-site, I now know that it is ok to get frightened by that feeling and that it is normal. Even though I am still scared to SIT again--knowing the feeling of fright is OK, I know--or pray--that someday I have the courage to try it again. Thank you for your story. |

I have had a similar experience and it was
absolutly exhilarating. I couldn't believe the
feeling that it gave me. It gave me a certain peace
that I never had felt before and there is a
degree of fear involved too. It is so hard to
believe how magnificent God really is.
I felt his presence in me last night and
it was a wonderful feeling. |

I have just now began to understand the power of the holy spirit. Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit as one being.
I have just begin to try to speak in tounges. I just
let myself go. I feel sometimes as if I'm just mumbling
but at the same time I do know my thoughts and feelings
are being conveyed to the Lord and I feel the warmest
of sensations and the most fulfilling sensations when I
am praying, especially in an unlearned lanugage. The best
feeling I know when I'm speaking in tounges (and I have
only done this for a few days now) is that I know the
devil cannot intercept my prayers and get into the way. I know
God has a plan for me and has shown me the way and by
speaking through and with the holy spirit I can follow God's
lead rather than try to interpret it. The Holy Spirit
is a "revealer" thus you can know what you are supposed to do
rather than try to ask God what to do. It is a learning process
for me but I know that I am on the right track. |

Hello,
I was born in a non-christian family, and i have been a secret christian for over three years now, i have read the bible and i strongly believe in the existence of speaking in tounges, healing and other gifts of the holy spirit.
After nearly two years of accepting christ, it was only this year that i had the experience of the holy ghost, i went through one of the most difficult phases in my personal life this year and on many occasions i was really fed up with this life, but all through my trouble it was jesus who stood by my side.
One sunday morning when i felt really depressed, i went to the church, i usually dont go on sundays b'cos i cant give explanations to my family members as to where i am going ...
but that day, there was an urge and i went to the church.( I go to the pentecostal mission.)
and the message that day was especially for me, to reach out to god and believe that all that has happened was for good. and as the service was nearing an end.... there was a slight shivering in my body, then it slowly rose to my hands and i was fully aware that god was sending the comforter to me, the holy spirit...
in a short while i began shaking violently and i began to ask god for more power, more strength, and greater i recieved.
I am a very timid person by nature, and i was controlling myself that day, and i was just saying "praise the lord" all through the service, i did not speak in tounges for quite some time after the incident. But i often wondered what it is like to speak in tounges, and started reading the bible and then i sought the help of many other people through e-mail, some encouraged me to ask god for the gifts of the spirit, while some argued about it and said that the age has gone...
but recently as i was praying secretly in my room, i had the most greatest experience of my life, i spoke in tounges for almost an hour.
When we pray with our own effort, it is tough to pray for a long time, but when you speak to god in tounges you are given the power, this is very true.
this is not something that we force ourselves to do, when i speak in tounges i find that i cannot control my jaw or tounge , and the words seem to be coming from deep within.
Another remarkable thing happened to me, i was suffering from a severe stomach ailment for almost a year...NO DOCTOR COULD EVEN FIND THE REASON BEHIND IT, and the only thing they told me to do, was to take a pain killer whenever i felt the pain, but after recieving the holy spirit, i am healed, as a test of faith, the pain occured on a few occasions, but after i prayed about this to god, i was HEALED COMPLETELY...BY THE GREAT PHYSICIAN....JESUS
so dear friends, just keep asking god to show you the truth and experience the real joy and power of the holy spirit, instead of arguing or doubting, let us just pray to truly experience the gifts of the spirit.....
let us all remember this verse from the bible...
"...any sin can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the holy spirit can never be forgiven, it is an eternal sin"

I was so surprised to see your experience. Because often times you have quoted that you were frightened. Why the fear, if really Holly Spirit come on you. Believers should not need any fear. It's the guilty fear that you experienced. It's the false doctrine. Baptizm of Holly Spirit had happened once for ever, after the ascension of Jesus. If you think Baptizm of Holly Spirit is happening now, then we have to pray to God to raise Jesus from the dead. Because Jesus said, unless I go, the Conforter cannot come. And at the day of Pentacost the Baptizm has taken place for ever. |

I pray for everyone who is reading this that the Lord will open understanding and truth to all who wants to know the truth about Jesus. He is the Alpha and the Omega the beginning and the end. He is the One True Living God and He is the best thing that's ever happened in my life. He has filled me with the holy ghost(holy spirit) and I'm not ashamed of the truth about Jesus. I went to a Pentecostal church 6 years ago and was also baptized in Jesus' name and repented of my sins as well. This is Acts 2:38 in action. Repent and be baptized everyone of you for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the holy ghost. For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Don't be afraid of the holy ghost(holy spirit). It is a wonderful gift from God. |

I wonder if you shouldn't still seek to speak in tounges while you are awake. What you described before you went to sleep is very similar to an the experience I had when The Christ baptised me with the Holy spirit, save that the feeling of something moving in my body continued and finally after several seconds took over my body and began to speak with my mouth an incredible language. the same Spirit while in control interpreted the language and it was praises to Jesus Christ. |
