CAWTHON, James Franklin "Cowboy", 45, a resident of Wetumpka Alabama, died Sunday, September 17, 2006 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. from Gassett Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in the Wetumpka City Cemetery. Mr. Cawthon is survived by his beloved companion, Donna Favors of Wetumpka; his mother, Betty Jo Cawthon of Wetumpka, his daughter, Jacquelyn Gebhardt of Manteca, CA; two sisters, Angela D. (& Paul) Bland of Tampa, FL and Donna Jo (& Larry) Poeppelmeier of Wetumpka; two grandchildren, Tayor and Faith Gebhardt, and his beloved niece and nephews, Vicky Bland of Opelika, Lane (& Lena) Purvis of Wetumpka, and Landon Bland of Tampa, FL. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, at Gassett Funeral Home.

When I was talking to Donna, she was already at the funeral home.. she told me that before she left, she wanted to get the cat inside and could not find her anywhere.. She said that she suddenly looked outside at the spot where Jean had collapsed and there was the cat, laying right there on that spot. As Ms. Priss opened the door, calling for it, the cat came running in and was just meowing and meowing. Donna held the cat so tightly just knowing that she too, felt the emptiness and loss of Jean. Thank you for posting this, Hey Hey Paula.. I always loved that picture of Jean! I captures the life within her that she shared with everyone..

Thanks for posting, Paula. I wish I could be there in Wetumpka today ; I really do. Somehow I just know Donna feels all of USM's love, care and concern .
