I was actually thinking about dream interpretations earlier today. I'd taken a nap for a couple hours and it seemed like through my entire name I dreamed the same long dream...I'd wake up in the dream but still be dreaming and go back to sleep in my dream. There was some sort of alien type invasion coming and I had psychic powers and no one believed me it was the longest, strangest dream I ever had in my life. I could see the future in my head on like a television screen and I remember thinking, since I had this dream I know how to do this and will be able to do it still when I wake up, lol. All this while still in the dream. ![]() |

I disagree. Our Brains never sleep. Dreams are the symbols of our subconscience mind. I am a "lucid" dreamer. And I am a firm believer in Dream Symbology. ![]() |

"...made up facts." lol Personally, I love looking up dream symbols (www.dreammoods.com is a good site to go to, and the "Dreams" book by the.. Garfields(?) is alright), but I don't always agree with their interpretations. I know me better than they do, so I think I can interpret a lot for myself, even if I haven't studied dreaming.. Also, I think that only about half the stuff we dream up has any kind of "meaning" and the other half is just random junk firing off in your head. Just my belief, though! LOL ![]() |

The subconscious mind never sleeps. Whatever it receives into it, it percieves as truth since it cannot differentiate between reality and a lie. It receives everything as truth then programs the conscious mind according to it's perceptions. ![]() |

This is interesting, but your assumptions are incorrect. To begin with, the subconcious mind has no concept of words as such. It's "language" is emotional and is all symbolic. Whatever it receives into it, it percieves as truth since it cannot differentiate between reality and a lie. "It receives everything as truth then programs the conscious mind according to it's perceptions." Just as Nani said. Spirit Child is equally correct. Word language and logic, truth and error, are all the domain of the conscious mind. And the subconscious is also totally subjective, which is why no dream symbol book is ever 100% right on, in fact they are mostly wrong. There are very few universal or archtypical symbols. The symbols in dreams are your own, and it is good to learn what yours are. For instance I know from past patterns what manyn of mine are. A tornado means one thing to me but another thing to you. And yes not al;l dreams forcast the future, but some do. but all dreams are important to the individual having the dream. he ones you remember best are the most important ones. I could say more but I will stop. ![]() |

I have dreams of car accidents, as long as I find the person in the dream and they are ok, something bad happens but it all turns out okay, if I can't find them, there is a death of someone close to them(of the one who had the accident) ![]() |

I agree with you, I have a dream book that tells me when I dream about something, it fortells death and misery in my future (or some crap like that). I don't ever open it anymore. I have a LOT more fun writing down my dreams then thinking about what is going on in my life and how I am feeling and decoding my dreams myself! Nice post! Love Love! ![]() |

well Manofasgard, Nani and Spiritchild perhaps you misinterpreted my info here, I am not saying anything about the subconscious I am just saying that not everything is symbolic and like Manofasgard said most symbols are our own and only we know the meanings. I am just saying be careful when reading dream interpretation books and be sure to get one with the right info and not one written by some moron that don't know what they are talking about ![]() |
