OK. Me, (Kevin Barron age 13) and the rest of my family went to Gettysburg for a week. All week long... i have been beging to go on the ghost walk that they have. (It's suppose to be one of the most haunted towns in America) Anyway, on Thursday night, (the 4th day) My mom and i finally go. We left hotel room and got on the elevator. We pressed 'L' for Lobby. Then the elevator goes up. '???' To the 5th and top floor of the hotel. We were posotive we pressed the Lobby button. There was no one at the 5th floor. It was as if someone, or something didn't want us to go.... That's just the beginning! The real sighting i saw was next. After about 20 minutes from the beginning of the ghost walk, we went to the police station. (That was a jail during the time of the battle ---> It looked exactly like a haunted house) The tour guide was telling us a story about it. (that involved a ghost) Some were facing the house and some (including me) were facing the schoolhouse next door. (that was there during battle) The wall on the schoolhouse was very dark but there was a little bit of light on it from the nearby candles. Then i noticed somebodys shadow on the wall. To tell you the truth, the shadow looked like the shadow of Kramer on Seinfeld. It had fuzzy hair and was rather large because it covered the whole wall. What is strange is that the shadow was unusally dark for no light that it had to make a shadow. Then it moved to the right side of the building. At first i thought it was someones shadow, but it wasn't, everybodys shadow was on the ground. (because of the lamp post) Then when i turned around, it was gone. I didn't know what to do or say. I thought it was just my imagination at first because the tour guide was telling everyone 'ghost' storys. And our mind is filled with ghost things, so i remained calm because i thought i was just seing things because it just wasn't logic. The tour moved on... I saw three members of the tour not moving, one of them was pointing at the wall. Then i heard her say, 'it was there, then it moved over there.' I went up to them and said, 'you saw it too?' Then we exchanged notes to eachother. Yep, you guessed it. We saw the same exact thing. One of them said that one of the curtains on the windows wasn't at the original place than at the beginning. I went to bed, feeling VERY confused. The next day we had to go home. :( We had nothing to do. We needed some ideas. Then i recomended we go up to Big Round Top. The story says that during the battle, soldiers were up there and confederate sharpshooters & snippers were firing at them. Then, if they had to retreat, and they forgot somebody that was wounded, they wouldn't bother going up there because the hill was sooo high up and rocky and is a nucence to get on top of. (They're not kidding, it is still a pain to climb) So the soldiers would just leave them up there to die. At the Summit, there's a cliff and near the cliff, is a place called Devils Kitchen. (It's suppose to look like a bunch of rocks that looks like an oven and shape a kitchen) We found something but we're not so sure about it. It was more like a deep pit that was a rock. Anyway, my Mom was filming our adventure on the video camera. Then we left. It was sorta a disappointment because there was suppose to be a lot of ghosts up there. Well... the strange thing happened. We went home to see it all on film. We were enjoying it we saw everything that my Mom recorded, Little Round Top, Devils Den, Etc.. Well, the strange thing happended on Big Round Top. When we were watching it, our friend said, 'what's that sound?' We heard it too... It sounded like... a heart beating??? Yes, it sounded just like somebodys heart beating! The weird part is, whenever we crossed an area, the heart would start beating. And whenever we left that area, it would stop beating. It never did this before. Why the heck is it doing it now??? When we were on the hill, we never heard it, we only heard it on TV from the camera. It's never made this sound before. And we would hear it whenever the camera went over a small rocky area. Well.... there you have it. My ghostly experiences at Gettysburg.These things are unexplainable. I don't know what caused them i'm not sure if it was from a ghost or not. But i swear, the storys i told you were true. Take my word for it. How it changed my life:It changed my life because it opened my mind to thinking that... Is it a fact that there are ghosts of Gettysburg? Are the hundreds of Storys True? 3 strange things happened. and are they all reasonable explanations? There are hundreds of storys about ghosts at Gettysburg. How can ALL of them be reasonable explantations unless they aren't true?
