Around 3:00 Father David showed up. “Hello, Mrs. Brown” he said. “I am sorry to hear about your daughter. He said a little blessing for her. Sara thanked him for coming. “I hope this helps” she said to Father David. “This hit her suddenly and she is in a coma now. The doctors say it doesn’t look good for her” Father David held Sara’s hands. “You and your daughter both have my blessings. Call me if there is anything else you need” He left the room
Sara went back and sat along Dante’s bedside. She heard a low laughter and looked at Dante. “Do you really think the Father’s blessing is going to help your daughter?” She heard as Dante opened her eyes. “Bertha, you need to leave Dante alone. She has done nothing to you” Sara said.
Dante’s head turned slightly. “She has done nothing to me?” she questioned. “She has taken control of my house and sold off my coins and jewelry. How is that doing nothing to me? She is going to pay for messing with my stuff. She is going to give me her body so I can once again take control.” Bertha replied through Dante. She turned her head back and closed her eyes.
Within moments, Dante’s heart monitor started beeping. Nurses and doctors came running into the room and told Sara she had to leave. “What is going on?” Sara questioned. “She is in cardiac arrest, please leave” the nurse replied.
Sara stood in the hallway as the doctors and nurses worked on Dante. “Please dont let her die” she thought to herself. In a few moments the doctors and nurses headed out of the room. One stopped to talk to Sara. “She is stable now, you may go back inside” she said.
Sara ran back into the room. She stood along Dante’s bed. Her eyes opened. “I told you I have total control starting” she heard Dante say. Her eyes quickly closed back. “Bertha. Bertha?” Sara questioned. Dante’s eyes opened once again. “Yes?” she said in a sheepish voice. “I will find a way to stop you from doing this to Dante. You can guarantee I will find a way.” Sara said. Dante’s eyes closed once again. “You are boring me, Sara. Isn’t it time for you to go home?” Dante spoke.
Sara sat there quietly till a nurse came in and said visiting hours were over. She leaned over and kissed Dante on the forehead. “I will be back in the morning, honey. I know you can hear me” Sara said before leaving.
She arrived back at the house and went into Dante’s room. Miss Kitty was curled up on Dante’s bed. “I know you miss her too” she said to the cat as she gave her a little pat on the head. She sat down at the computer and turned it on. She logged into Dante’s account the way she showed her to.
A few of the coins had ended and people had paid for them already. “How am I going to do this?” she thought to herself. “Dante never showed me how to ship items.” She clicked on the coins that had been paid for and tried to figure it out. It seemed pretty easy. It gave the buyers address; all she had to do was pack the right coins and put them in the envelope and address them.
She walked over to Dante’s closet and got the coins out. She went through them carefully, making sure she had the correct one before packing them. She went through one at a time, carefully following the directions. She had them packed in no time.
She placed the rest back into the closet. They would be ending tomorrow, so she would have to do this tomorrow if someone paid for them. She wanted to make sure she got them sent out for Dante since she couldn’t do it herself. She sat there for a moment and burst into tears.
She thought of everything Dante has gone through over the last few weeks, how happy she was getting her inheritance, and now this had to happen. There had to be something Sara could do to prevent Dante from suffering.
Sara went over to Dante’s bed and lied down. She lied there stroking the cat and listening to her purr. Within moments she had drifted off to sleep. Sara had awoken around 3:30 a.m. She couldn’t sleep. She was worried about Dante. She headed out to the kitchen and put on a pot of coffee.
She sat at the table waiting for it to brew. That was when it hit her. Dante and she had gone over to the house to show it to Debbie. When they got there the house was in shambles. Once Debbie left, the house restored itself causing Dante to turn around to see what the noises were they had heard.
Dante drove back up the driveway and the house was repaired and had nothing wrong with it. Dante got out of the car and went to the front door. Sara had remembered once Dante got back in the car, Dante stated she felt as if an electrical charged had gone through her when she touched the door handle.
“That is it” her mother thought to herself. “The house had something to do with Dante getting sick. Dante told me about the dreams she had been having where there was a women in the room with no eyes, then the next she had eyes. The locked door was Bertha’s secret room, from what my mother always told me and no one was allowed in there. Maybe when the house sent what Dante thought was an electrical charge, it had something to do with Bertha’s curse?”
She poured herself a cup of coffee. First thing in the morning, she was driving over to the house before going to the hospital. She finished her coffee and headed back to bed. She tossed and turned the rest of the night.
She finally got out of bed around 7:00. She dressed and found Dante’s keys for the house and headed over there. She pulled into the driveway and followed the path to the house. It was still in perfect condition. Sara put the car in park and got out.
She walked onto the porch and opened the door. She stepped inside and the house seemed to have a strange atmosphere to it. It was almost as if it knew she was there. She heard a voice come from upstairs. “Hello Sara, are you coming to see where your daughter will be living once I take her body over?” Sara looked around and couldn’t figure out where the voice had come from. She headed back out the front door and locked it behind her. She knew what had to be done
