look up the laws in your state but here if you have no power and no gas due to your landlord then you are entitled to stay at a hotel and he has to pay. Not sure about where you are but look into it, he can't make you live in a building that is not with the utilities.  |

Most landlords will tell you if, your electricity is included in the rent. If, it is not then it becomes your responsbility to have it put in your name and to pay the bill. Make sure you have all your rent reciepts if, it is a case of utilities included. If, not when you go to the Electric company take your rental agreement with you and ask if, you have to pay a deposit. If, you have to pay a deposit then ask for deferred billing. Since, you live in Ohio check with HEAP they should be able to help as well.  |

I live in Ohio. I know one thing if what you say is true. He's going to JAIL, and they might take his property. I hate to tell you this but start looking for a place to live. About the samething happened to me and yea the court seized his property and we had to move. It took a few months though so don't panic.  |

He told me and my neighbors he pay for the eletric, then we have to put it in our name once the times to do it...But he hasnt been paying the electric bill cause apparently He's been using the previous tenants names on the bill, and He is being investagated. |

He was 2 faced about it today 2. He said oh the eletric off, cause its spring, and you wont need the gas as much, and you need to put it in your name....Well I called Duke, and said they shut it off, and he's being investagated for fradulant use.... |

again, check and see if you are able to move into a hotel until he has the power turned back on if he is supposed to be paying it or you can prove that you have lived there for so many months without paying it because it was his responsibility. He can't just tell you now that it is your responsibility if he was paying. (or not as the case is) :o) |

As a landlord I can tell you that what he's done is not legal. Check your lease terms. What is supplied by the landlord/owner and what is to be paid by you should be clearly outlined. Contact your local Landlord/Tenant Association and report that guy!  |
