Easy Recipes for Spanish foods? *ANGUS*

Hey, I was wondering if anyone here knew some easy spanish recipes or wesbites with good spanish recipes on them.

For my History and Culture of Language class in school, we're bringing in Spanish foods Wednesday as part of the lesson and all. The thing is, though, we have to sign up by tomorrow if we're bringing anything.

My mom said she would cook something for me to take in, but I can't think of something simple that everyone would like that I could take in.

Does anyone have any ideas? Please tell me by tomorrow if possible, so I can know before I sign up (if anything I guess I could just take plates/forks and stuff in)

Thanks a lot guys

Date: 3/27/2008 2:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I'm not too much of a fan of Spanish foods but how about some Spanish rice? What you need is 1 tbsp oil , 1 cup rice , 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock , 2 tbsp tomato sauce , 1/2 of an onion, chopped and salt to taste. You heat the oil on high in a frying pan. Add the rice into the pan until it starts to turn brown, but don't over cook it. (kind of like when you're cooking rice o roni, if you ever cooked that before). Then you add the tomato sauce and stock. Stir it pretty well then you add the onion. Then you reduce the head and let it simmer for about 30-40 minutes. Then add some salt or any other seasonings for flavor. Pretty simple to make. :)

Date: 3/27/2008 3:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 60685    http://www.elboricua.com/flan.html That's the recipe for Flan, it's a dessert and really who doesn't have a sweet tooth. Btw, you can pretty much cut that 1/2 a cup of sugar they have along with the mixed ingredients, it's not really needed.
Date: 3/27/2008 3:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 60685    Oh, just in case "baño de maría" is like when one is making creme brulee and and one puts the ramikans (in the flan's case the mold) into a large baking pan and fill it with water halfway.
