I'm of the belief if you're over the age of 15 (old enough to drive) you don't need to be out trick or treating. It's for the young ones, and we have refused to give candy to older kids. It's not fair to the young ones for older kids who could get it elsewhere to take that away from the young ones, IMO. |

oops, did want to add, if an older kid is taking out the young ones, in that instance I think it's only fair for the older kid to get a bit of a treat, so those kids don't get turned away from our house. |

in my family, the last year of elementary school (grade 7) was equally the last year of trick or treating. trick or treating is for the kids..teenagers and grown-ups have their own fun with parties & such :) |

I don't mind it, but I stopped going because I live in Colorado and the candy (which I hardly ate) wasn't worth the cold I had to endure. But I think that by the time you are 16, its over and you should go find other hobbies. Haunted Houses are fun. But I don't mind dressing up, I still do it to this day!! *hugs* |

IMO, It's stupid to have an age limit on Trick-Or-Treating--it's like putting an age limit on fun. But, since there is increased risks of kidnapping, and pranks gone wrong, and the world is definitely getting crazier and crazier, with sexual predators and pedophiles and all, I do think that a 35 y/o man trick-or-treating is kind of odd. But a teenager? nah. Halloween is a time to be with friends, neighbors, and families. It's not a sinister holiday at all. I think, eventually the "trick-or-treating temptation" will where off once you get older. I TOT'ed up until I was 16 and at 17 I was just going to block parties, hanging out with friends--or shacking up, watching a marathon of horror movies with Pizza, Popcorn and junk food! :D But now that I'm older, I just let the kids at it, I enjoy sitting on my porch, having a brewski (or a pop, lol) and hanging out with my friends and neighbors and giving out candy. |

I think it is ridiculous to limit kids, there is so few things that they can do that if it brings them joy for another year so be it. When I get the older kids they have to sing a song out on the front lawn, they laugh and have a fun time being goofy and then I give them their candy. I figure if you go to the trouble of getting a costume and going out then I will reward you. So keep going. |

I think some cities place the age limit to give the younger ones a chance lol. I know in my area you can often find the older ones going to the halloween parties at schools, churches, and etc. |

I'm 21 and I'd still consider trick-or-treating. |

we give candy to everyone that comes to the door figuring 1. it's all in the spirit of things 2. you are only as old as you feel :P and 3. if they are at our door, they aren't down the street knocking over the 7-11. lol! |

I've given treats to trick-or-treaters in their 20's and older. If a person goes to the trouble to dress up, they deserve a treat...it shows they're young at heart. Enjoy!! |

When my daughter was 13 she stopped going trick or treating, but she still dressed up and passed out the candy. I think 13 is a good age to stop. I find the older kids who come around here trick or treating are always on the rude side. |

The last time I went Trick or Treating was at about 13 or 14. After that I felt like I was too old. I wouldn't refuse to give a teen candy. |

I'd never refuse a kid candy, I figure if you bother why not. I will give the older kids less than the younger kids, but being in college I don't see many 20 year olds wanddering around my apartment complex trick or treating. Many of them go to party's and such. Come to think of it, we didn't see a single trick or treater the last two years. :( *hugs* |

i'm 18 and I still trick or treat, and the people in my area where I trick or treat think its cool. But it also might be because im taking kids from my neighborhood so that their parents can relax too |

It really depends because some kids go out to beat up the younger kids and destroy property and there are those who want to go and have good clean fun! Its a shame that there even has to be an age limit but kids these days dont know how to respect property and other humans and it is only getting worse. In a perfect world if children could realize that you dont need to cause trouble to have fun we would not need an age limit but unfortuanantly this is not a perfect world |
