The Lake -screen_writer-

Looking out over the lake during the nighttime hours never ceased being inspiring to her; and the view was more special when a full moon hung in the sky like it was this night. The exquisiteness of the setting was mesmerizing, and served as a feast for the imagination; every noise that occurred throughout the wooded area surrounding the lake was a wonder; every sight was marveling. Rarely, was anyone ever around the lake anymore. It had been forgotten about years ago; cast aside when the nearby town failed and was abandoned. However, that didn’t bother her in the least. It was as if this place belonged exclusively to her, which only added to the exhilaration, and the butterflies excitedly fluttering in her tummy whenever she had the pleasure of witnessing the spectacle.

Casting a pearly haze upon everything God created, the full moon seemed to glow in the sky just for her. The dark night was eerily lit by the radiance of the celestial being. Shadows in the woods, created by the moonlight, combined with the noise of rustling leaves, caused by a light breeze blowing through the tree tops, added to the mystery of the location; producing secrecy in ‘her’ spot, bringing about delight that echoed through her body. Sometimes these shadows would even cause a bit of fright in her mind, but that fright only pointed out to her she was, indeed, alive. This caused her heart to overflow with rapture, while her intellect whispered to her soul… ‘you are part of this bliss’.

Every now and then she received contentment in thinking she was the only human being alive in the world. One could easily picture this when alone at the lake, especially at night. It was a liberating thought; fore if she was the only living person on earth there was no one to hide tears from; no one to be ‘oh so happy’ around; no whispers by anyone about you; no jeers to experience; only the opportunity to be completely yourself. There was nothing to hold you back from pursuing enlightenment. However, if your imagination wouldn’t allow you to think that way, still, no one could fight the FEELING that you were a million miles away from anything that mattered.

Sitting on the banks of the lake, among the dead foliage, and living nature she reveled in the memories of life; the thoughts that brought happiness to her spirit. Even the heartbreaking moments that entered her mind brought a smile out. Because those poignant times she experienced allowed her to cherish the joy of life much more then someone who lived an easy life. The difficult times were certainly hard to get though, but she wouldn’t change a thing, considering those moments got her to here.

Here on the shore, where, in front of her, was water; water which relinquishes the bounty of life every day, and has done the same for billions of years. Therefore, what better place to nourish ones dreams then by the lake; to think about your goals? The beauty of the scene was so grand that even if she had suffered an eternity of heartbreak; that could not diminish the allure in her mind. Absolutely, her dreams were alive and well. She threw a small stone into the lakes water, and watched the twilight reflect off of the ripples. The ripples imitated life – the ups and downs – it was all worth it. The lake revived her senses. It was a dream that she didn’t want to ever wake up from; a feeling of calm, where every muscle relaxed.

Regardless of what her future holds, her dreams will never die as long as she has this place to come to. And when she can’t physically be here, rest assured she’ll never leave it. She’ll always be by the lake in her heart. If she permitted it, it very well could be a dream she never wakes from. Her dreams will be reality someday.

The End.

This isn't really a story, as you can see. Just some personal thoughts that I wrote out in a creative way. Remember, your dreams will never die as long as you keep them alive. I hope you all have a place in your mind or a place you can actually go to that reminds you just how great life is.

Dedicated to Liz, it’s great being your friend. Your wonderful, and I know your set for great things in your future:)
