make sure you vacuum well afterwards and get rid of the bag. not all pesticides work to kill the eggs. don't forget to give the cat a flea bath, too... :o) |

We had the same issues. Tried the bombs and they last temporary. We ended up having to get rid of the carpet and having to treat the yard outside with Sevin Dust. Good luck! |

We didn't bug-bomb at all when our dogs got them last year. We just got Revolution and put it on the dogs. It kills all of the fleas, and keeps the eggs from hatching for one month. Once the Revolution goes on it takes about 2 days to kill everything. In the meantime we vacuumed the entire house, floor to ceiling every day- couches, curtains, carpets- everywhere a flea might hide. Once the Revolution sank in and killed the fleas, we gave the dogs some good scrubbing and brushing in the bath tub and the problem has been pretty well gone ever since- we've been keeping the Revolution on them on schedule- it really does its stuff. |

If you wanna kill them without using a bomb (illegal in Canada) use a dish of water with dish soap in it, the little suckers jump right in and die. Lots of vacuuming and remember its not just the carpets, they get in the couch and beds every where. Actually bomb it if you can! :o) |

You can buy bug bomb's in the US? They don't sell them here anymore, but what works really well for me is to fill a shallow dish with water and a drop of dish soap and a votive candle in the middle. The light from the candle attracts the pesky fleas and the hop right in, the dish soap causes the fleas to sink so it keeps them from floating and hopping back out and they drown. |

We had fleas really bad and used advantage on the dog and they went away. We didn't treat the house or anything so it took a week or two to go through the life cycle, but it did it's job and a great one at that. We just buy advantage once a month for 10 dollars or so and it does all the work. :) |

if you bug bomb the house, make sure your animals are not left in the house when doing this, and also, you need to treat the cat/cats with flea treatment as well. |

Thanks for all the advice. Actually..I DID use the water and soap with a light near it to catch some of them first..:) I just now bombed the room and my cat isn't inside the house at all. In all actuality he really belongs to the people across the street but I feed him and let him sleep inside when it's cold and play with him. Hopefully this will work...:) |

I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet but, it has always worked for me. Go to the store and buy Borax in the laundry section. Sprinkle it on your carpets and sweep it in with a broom, wait about three days and then vaccum it up. To treat your pets use dawn dish detergent which, when you give them a bath you can see the fleas just dying off. Give them the bath with it and then another one the following week. It's always worked for me :D |

All of the above! I have used bombs but the best luck I have is vaccuuming daily and treating Sampson with Frontline. |

anyplace the cat sleeps needs to be treated,as well as the cat, pretty much all bombs have the same chemical to kill the adult fleas, however flea eggs are usually not affected by the chemicals in the bomb..Putting Borax or plain table salt on the carpet will dry up the flea eggs and fleas in the larval stage.I would suggest getting a bomb that has the birth control chemical in it,that makes the fleas sterile thus ending their ability to reproduce... |
