This is a strange story involving the car James Dean the 50's hollywood icon died in.Friends told Dean that the car was trouble, why they thought that was a mystery. It was a rare silver Porche Spyder made in 1955 nicknamed "the Little (They will not let me submit the name because it is "profane language")" which lead him to his death Sep. 30 1955.

Master car designer George Barris bought the wreck for $2,500 when it arived at the garage it slipped and fell on one of the mechanics unloading it and broke both his legs.Burris started having "bad feelings" about his purchase. These feelings were confirmed when 2 physicians Troy McHenry and William Eschrid, were both racing cars that had parts installed from the wreck.Mchenry's car had the engine and he died when his car went out of control and hit a tree.Eshcrid's car flipped and left him with serious injuries,he said the car locked up when he went into a curve.

More malevolent influences happened when a kid trying to steal the steering wheel slipped and gashed open his arm.Two tires,Barris reluctantly sold to a young man blewout simultameously.

Trying to put the car to good use,Barris loaned the car to the California Highway Patrol for a touring display about the importance of auto saftey.Days later the housing garage burnt to the ground with the exception of the "little ?", all vehicles was destroyed. When it went on exhibit in Sacramento it fell from the display and broke a teenagers hip.George Burkuis, who was hauling the Spyder on a flatbed truck was killed instantly when the Porche fell on him after he was thrown out of the truck in a accident.

Mishaps continued till 1960,finally loaned to Miami,Florida. When the exhibit was over, the wreckage, en route to L.A. on a truck, MYSTERIOUSLY VANISHED.To this day the "Little ?" whereabouts are unknown.

Myself,I wonder what happened to the engine and the car; and I heard that "Christine" the famous horror story from Stephen King was influenced by these mysterious circumstances.

If anyone wants to know the nickname.I can give it to you via My Space.

Date: 5/16/2008 2:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    Yes, that car really did have something attached to it. Very weird. I've always wondered, it seems too much for mere coincidence.
Date: 5/16/2008 2:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 15070    This is a really fascinating & scary story. And it is all true. To my knowledge, they never did find that Spyder Porsche. The accident itself was very, very weird...there were no other vehicles approaching for miles in either direction, when James Dean smashed into that other car.
Date: 5/16/2008 3:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 51876    It's like he had a evil force that joined this car.Like possesion of a inanimate object.
Date: 5/17/2008 10:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 18155    The Little B-----D was the name. I assume one can fill in the blanks. BTW, the car has vanished, supposedly, and the truck carrying the car from the wreck site has also apparently lost its way. Urban Legend? Thanks for getting your facts right, I got nearly booted by the
"Thought Police when I posted it years ago.
